Therefore, the ritual related to installation and consecration is called the Consecration Ritual. Furthermore, Surab (Surab, name), Pratisoso (Pratisoso, name), Shta (Shta, name) meaning abiding, can also be understood as abiding in the self-nature of each support. As it is said in the Vajra Arrangement: 'In order for the body image of the Tathagata to be the cause of infinite liberation, one should invite and install all the Buddhas.' As mentioned above. Second, the supports on which to abide are: According to the Tarka: 'Symbolized by beating, painting, carving, etc., the support of the body image is the manifestation of the peaceful and wrathful forms of the Tathagata; the support of speech is the scriptures of the complete Buddhas and noble ones; the support of mind is the support of the Dharmakaya, generally called stupas, specifically divided into the eight great stupas, etc.; in addition, there are temples, ornaments, and ritual implements, etc.' These must also possess their respective characteristics in terms of shape and decoration, reaching the standard. As it is said in the scripture: 'The body image should be complete with marks and signs, possessing peaceful and other expressions, conforming to the measurement standards and being exquisite, such a body image should be consecrated and installed.' As mentioned above. Third, the necessity of abiding: divided into two aspects of merit and demerit. The first aspect is: if the support has not been consecrated, or has been consecrated with an incomplete ritual, it will not be auspicious, nor will it become a field for accumulating merit. As it is said in the scripture: 'If the body image is complete, but abides for a long time without being consecrated, inauspicious things will occur, and it is not suitable for offering.' Furthermore, 'Consecration should not be performed with an incomplete ritual, incomplete consecration is forever inauspicious, one will suffer in this life, and experience great fear in the next life.' The second aspect is: avoiding the above-mentioned faults, and the support itself will increase merit through offerings, consecrate the continuum, etc., becoming very meaningful. Therefore, 'One should make every effort, and strive diligently for accomplishment. With the power of the nature of the ritual, through the correct method arising from observation, doing so will generate great merit, which will increase in visible and invisible realms. The body image, through the characteristics of the mantra, will be infused with blessings.' Furthermore, it is said in the Tantra of Padma Wangchen: 'For the special nature of the body, speech, and mind supports, a good consecration ritual should be performed.' As mentioned above. Fourth, the Acharya (Acharya, Guru) who performs the consecration: should tame his own mind-stream with the trainings of the three vehicles, especially maturing through empowerment in the mandala of Vajrayana, maintaining pure vows, and the activities of the Acharya such as the ten realities of inner and outer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The master who has the authority to consecrate must be proficient in all the rituals starting from the 'Visionary Lineage' (Tibetan: མཐོང་རྒྱུད།) and be able to skillfully apply them. As the scripture says: 'The master should possess ten wisdoms, be perfect in all qualities, know the mudras, mantras, and rituals, and be skilled in all activities.' These ten wisdoms refer to: mandala, samadhi, mudra, posture, seat, recitation, fire offering, offering, and how to apply these to activities, as well as how to perform the retraction. These are the ten external wisdoms.' In addition, there are the two rituals for dispelling obstacles, as well as the rituals for secrecy, wisdom, prajna, union, and separation, the torma, vajra recitation, the ritual for subjugation, and how to perform consecration and mandala practice. These are the ten internal wisdoms.' These all indicate that monks, novices, and laypeople can serve as masters of the upper, middle, and lower levels respectively. Fifth, regarding where to perform the consecration: Auspicious and pleasant places should be chosen, which are considered suitable locations for pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful activities due to their direction and color. In addition, consecration should also be performed at stupas and other sacred objects, as well as residences and temples of deities. As the scripture says: 'Consecration should be performed for Buddha images and other sacred objects in places that possess various rituals.' In addition, 'auspicious, pure, and magnificent places, as well as places that are pleasing to the mind' should be chosen. These are consistent with what is stated in the mandala rituals. Sixth, regarding when to perform the consecration: 'Consecration is praised by the Victorious Ones on six months, four auspicious days, fourteen auspicious stars, and seven auspicious days.' Therefore, during the period from late winter to mid-summer in the Tibetan calendar, that is, during the northward movement of the sun, auspicious days and times should be chosen for consecration. As the *Mayajala Tantra* says: 'Starting from the eighth day of the waxing moon, on auspicious star days, in order to quickly attain supreme accomplishment, one should diligently practice the conduct of enlightenment, choosing auspicious stars.' Therefore, the importance of choosing auspicious times should also be understood from other treatises on *śabda-vidyā* (Sanskrit: शब्द-विद्या, Tibetan: རིག་བྱེད།). As the *Vajrabhairava Tantra* says: 'One should know the times from the branches of *śabda-vidyā*, the auspicious solar days, and the auspicious times for wealth, these are symbols of auspiciousness, and if observed carefully, auspicious signs will appear.' In addition, 'mandala and consecration should be performed during the waxing moon,' which is mainly considered from an important perspective. Otherwise, 'if auspicious days and times converge, there is no fault even in the waning moon.' Seventh, regarding the rituals for performing the consecration: interdependent origination (Tibetan: རྟེན་འབྲེལ།) and consecration (Tibetan: རབ་གནས།) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
