It is said that vast and profound treasures of both Dharma and Bon were extracted from the caves of Yarlung, hidden by Vairotsana (Tibetan: བཻ་རོ་ཙ་ན, Sanskrit: Vairocana, Romanized Sanskrit: vairocana, Literal meaning: The Illuminator), benefiting countless beings. These yellowed pages of Tara were later reburied in Yerpa Sewalung, and Rongpa Dudul Lingpa retrieved them, preserving them once again as a new treasure. Later, in the Earth-Tiger year of Rabjung, on the eighth day of the waxing moon of the month of miracles, Padma Osel Do-ngak Lingpa, the reincarnation of Tertön Drubthob Gyatso, had a vision in a dream where Khandro Chöndrika (Sanskrit: Caṇḍikā) presented him with the yellowed pages and bestowed blessings. Upon awakening, he deciphered the content from a yellowish-green scroll that appeared before him—about one finger wide and one and a half fingers long, filled with symbolic script—and gradually transmitted it to fortunate individuals. Through ripening empowerments and practices, he guided them to offer mandalas, join their palms, hold flowers, and recite the following prayer: Swift and brave Tara, I prostrate to you, I desire the great liberation, Therefore, empowerment and samaya, I take refuge in the protector Tara, Lead me into the great vehicle's mansion, Bestow wisdom and discernment upon me. (Recite three times) To purify the continuum of those who are capable of receiving empowerment, it is crucial to purify the mindstream. In the presence of the guru and the mandala of the visualized Holy Tara, along with all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, visualize yourself and all sentient beings as vast as space, prostrating, taking refuge, generating Bodhicitta, and upholding all common and uncommon vows with unwavering devotion. Recite the following three times: Namo! Deliverance from all fears and sufferings, etc. (Recite three times as in the original ritual text). Then, to establish the basis for empowerment, it is necessary to invoke the wisdom beings to descend. Therefore, restrain the key points of body, speech, and mind, and focus on the following meditation: Sprinkle cleansing water. Recite the activity mantra and སྭཱ་བྷཱ་བས་སྦྱང་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit: Svābhāva-śuddhāḥ, Romanized Sanskrit: svabhava shuddhah, Literal meaning: Purity of inherent nature). Purify all grasping and the grasped into the state of luminous emptiness. From emptiness, visualize the outer vessel as a pure turquoise-adorned realm, in the center of a wondrous and perfectly adorned palace, in the direction where you are situated, on a lotus and moon disc, visualize the inner essence as the nature of your own awareness, the green seed syllable ཏཱཾ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit: Tāṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: tam, Literal meaning: Tam) clearly. From it, radiate light, offering to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, purifying the two obscurations, including habitual tendencies, of all sentient beings. Again, gather it back, transforming into a green Utpala flower marked with the syllable ཏཱཾ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit: Tāṃ, Romanized Sanskrit: tam, Literal meaning: Tam). From this, in an instant, you all become the venerable Tara. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tārā is emerald green in color, peaceful in demeanor, and has a smiling expression. Her hair is dark and lustrous, flowing freely. She is adorned with silk garments, precious jewels, and garlands of flowers. Her right hand is in the Varada Mudra (boon-granting gesture), extended on her knee, while her left hand holds the stem of a green Utpala (blue lotus) at her heart with her thumb and forefinger joined. She sits in the half-lotus position within a mandala blazing with the five wisdom lights. She is surrounded by protectors who save from the eight fears, and emanations of the twenty-one Tārās. Countless manifestations, such as the hundred and eight names, appear as the sun and rays of light, marked with Oṃ (seed syllable, body), Āḥ (seed syllable, speech), and Hūṃ (seed syllable, mind) at the three places (body, speech, and mind). Then, in order to completely purify the lineage and receive the blessings of the wisdom deity, from the syllables at the three places (body, speech, and mind) and from the heart of the visualized guru in front, emanate inconceivable rays of light. From all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas pervading space, especially from pure lands such as Guhyavyūha (Dense Array) and Potala, invoke the compassionate mindstream of the venerable Tārā. All the secret blessings of their body, speech, and mind transform into forms of deities, mantra garlands, implements, rainbow lights, and light spots, filling the entire sky, and dissolve into your three doors (body, speech, and mind). Believe that your mindstream has been blessed. Accompanied by incense and music, after the ten-syllable mantra, add jñāna āveśaya a āḥ (wisdom, enter, a, ah), recite it many times and invoke the blessings. Believe that the stream of great wisdom blessings that descends in this way is firmly established in your three doors (body, speech, and mind). Recite tiṣṭha vajra (stay firm, vajra) and place the crossed vajra on your head. Next is the first stage of the actual empowerment, bestowing the vase empowerment. Please generate the following intention: From the heart of the guru, rays of light emanate, inviting the empowerment deities to descend into the space in front. They hold precious vases filled with the stream of wisdom nectar, with auspicious appearances, and empower you from the crown of your head. Holding the vase, recite: Hūṃ (seed syllable, mind)! Within the excellent vase of the non-conceptual Dharmakaya, filled with the essence of the five Buddha families of the complete Sambhogakaya, the nectar water of the Nirmanakaya nature washes away the afflictions and obscurations of the fortunate disciples, transforming the five skandhas into the five Buddha families, attaining the five accomplishments, may you possess the five bodies and five wisdoms! The vase touches the five places on the head. Sprinkle the vase water and give it. Oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā (Tārā mantra)! Oṃ padma kalaśa abhiṣiñca hrīḥ (lotus vase, empower, hrīḥ)! Oṃ vajra kalaśa abhiṣiñca hūṃ (vajra vase, empower, hūṃ)! Oṃ ratna kalaśa abhiṣiñca traṃ (jewel vase, empower, traṃ)! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
