Pile them up and place them. Likewise, for items suitable for weighing on a scale, such as meat, butter, and brown sugar, weigh them and recite: 'Ho!' To the Lord of Death, Yama Raja (death king) and his retinue, offer one or ten measures of consumable items such as meat, butter, and brown sugar, as before. Recite again: 'Hum! To the Lord of Death, Yama (death), and his retinue, I offer harmonious wealth as a gift. Five kinds of wish-fulfilling jewels and grains, meat, butter, brown sugar, cheese, broth, butter lamps, and medicine, incense, silk, and clothing, ornaments, and many other items. With this vast wish-fulfilling enjoyment, for the sake of what is to be accomplished today, in the presence of the Lord of Death and his retinue, due to ignorance and carelessness, whatever sins and transgressions have been committed, I offer as atonement and compensation.' I offer as ransom and substitute for life, I offer as compensation for not killing, I offer as repayment for not stealing, I offer as debt for not committing adultery. I offer, please accept and take, may the anger in your heart be pacified, and with a peaceful and beneficial mind, please dispel the fear of death.' After reciting, pile all the gifts at the end of the effigy. Seventh, bathing: Then, bathe the one to be practiced with incense water in which mantras have been recited, and visualize that all fears of death flow out with the bathwater in the form of black smoke, dissolving into the effigy, thereby liberating from the fear of death. Eighth, sending away the effigy: Turn the effigy of the Lord of Death facing south, and renew all the gifts. With the strong pride of the Yidam (tutelary deity), recite: 'Hum! Listen, Lord of Death, Yama Raja! You are the one with the magical power of karma, the great lord of the lives of beings, the Yama (death) of all the dead, the sickle that reaps the living, the judge who distinguishes between good and evil. To you and your retinue, today, I offer the life and lifespan of this owner of offerings as ransom. May you be pleased and satisfied, release the captured, and untie the bound. Without transgressing your command and oath, savor this excellent offering, leave here, and go elsewhere. From now on, do no harm. Even if there are past grudges, please dissolve them with this offering. If you transgress the words of the Great Self-Buddha, you will be shattered into dust. Therefore, great obstacle, please leave, and do not transgress the sacred oath!' After reciting, recite wrathful mantras, fumigate with gugul incense, strike instruments, and with the clamor of music, send the effigy to the end of the southern village, and demarcate the boundary with a protective wheel. Ninth, bestowing auspiciousness: For the one to be practiced --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Place it on a white cushion and spread white flowers on it. Visualize the generation and absorption of Amitayus (Tsepagme). Visualize that the light emanating from the heart gathers all the life essence of samsara and nirvana and dissolves into the object of accomplishment, and perform the life-invoking ritual. Pour in the previously accomplished vase water and recite: hrīḥ From the body, speech, and mind of all Buddhas of the three times, This stream of deathless nectar, Today, by empowering you, May you obtain the life accomplishment of all Vidyadharas. oṃ bhrūṃ vajra āyuṣe siddhi siddhi abhiṣiñca hūṃ Say this. Give longevity pills and longevity wine and say: hrīḥ All the gods and Vidyadharas, The samaya substance of deathless accomplishment, The supreme essence of nectar, Today, by empowering you, May you obtain the life accomplishment of all Vidyadharas. oṃ bhrūṃ vajra āyuṣe siddhi siddhi abhiṣiñca hūṃ Say this and let them enjoy it. Hold the vajra to your heart and say: oṃ Buddhas, Dharma, and Sangha, And the protectors of gods and the world, By the power and glory of truth, From the battle of death and demons, May you be victorious today, May your unchanging life be stable. By this empowerment, may the object of accomplishment, named 'so-and-so,' become an indestructible vajra, an unchanging swastika, and an imperishable victory banner, and may they have power over the accomplishment of deathless life. Adorn the end with auspicious verses, a rain of flowers, and the sound of music. It is also very good to bestow the longevity empowerment in connection with this. Then, the subsequent rituals of the mandala should be understood as in the ritual text. Furthermore, at the same time as performing this ritual, in order to increase support, make offerings to the objects of refuge. Recite dharani sutras such as the Longevity Sutra. Perform the invocation and confession to the Dharma protectors. Release water torma to purify karmic debts. Erect tsatsas. Give generously to the poor and helpless, and do whatever is possible, such as ransoming lives. Those who perform these actions should also abide by the precepts, remain clean, and generate as much virtuous intention as possible. The previously mentioned 'wheel of existence' is a drawing in the center of a wheel with three circumferences, with stacked images of a pig, monkey, and bird. On the outer six layers, draw the forms or names of gods, asuras, humans, animals, pretas, and hell beings, or write the syllables a, tri, nṛ, su, pre, du in order. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
