Thereafter, Duowa Living Buddha (སྡྭགས་པོ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཟླ་འོད་གཞོན་ནུ་) and others performed many deeds to benefit beings through various manifestations. When the signs of the five degenerations were complete and the time had come, the great master Padmasambhava (པདྨ་སམྦྷ་ཝ) personally appeared and bestowed empowerment upon Rigdzin Mayajala Vajra (རིག་འཛིན་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་རྡོ་རྗེ). In accordance with the instructions of the protector heroes and dakinis, he retrieved the Dharma teachings of Rigdzin Desheg Dupa (རིག་འཛིན་བདེ་གཤེགས་འདུས) from the charnel ground of Utpala (ཨུ་ཙ་ལ) at the summit of Black Mountain in the center of Chimpu (མཆིམས་ཕུ) at glorious Samye (བསམ་ཡས་), and gradually propagated them to fortunate Dharma holders. Here, we will bestow the profound empowerment of the longevity accomplishment Vajra Essence Light Net (ཚེ་སྒྲུབ་རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོ་འོད་ཀྱི་དྲྭ་བ), specifically the longevity empowerment and meaning empowerment of the infallible Garland of Jewels and Lotuses (ནོར་བུ་པདྨའི་ཕྲེང་བ). To enter this, please repeat the following prayer after me: Kye! Bhagavan, heed the assembly of longevity deities! May we and all sentient beings of the three realms Enter and mature in your mandala of wisdom! Guru: Ema! Listen, fortunate ones! Having entered this great secret mandala, Keep the secret mantra samaya properly, Protect it and grant whatever you wish! Disciple: Ho! Vajra holder, please heed! From now on, in all lifetimes, As you command, Even if my life is at stake, I will not transgress! Give the samaya water: Ho! This is the samaya vajra water! If broken, it is poison; if kept, it is nectar! Knowing the benefits and harms, enjoy this! Come to my mandala! The supreme longevity empowerment of wisdom vajra, Today I will bestow upon you! To enter properly, starting from the vajra in the guru's hand, prostrate with body, speech, and mind at the four gates, circumambulate the mandala three times, join palms, and visualize sitting on the seat. Then, in the sky in front, visualize the assembly of the three roots and sugatas, the deities of longevity, surrounded by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, appearing vividly. In their presence, thinking of taking refuge from this time until attaining Buddhahood for the sake of liberating oneself and all sentient beings as vast as space, please repeat after me: Hrih! Supreme of the lotus lineage, Bhagavan! To the immortal mandala and assembly of deities! Until I attain the vidyadhara of longevity! I take refuge with reverence in body, speech, and mind! Repeat three times.
