English

All sentient beings are encouraged to recite the refuge formula 'ur di re' with great devotion, reciting 'Sangye Chok Tso' (Tibetan: སངས་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ཚོགས, meaning: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) twenty-one times and 'Jiney Suda' (Tibetan: ཇི་སྙེད་སུ་དག་, meaning: As many as there are) once. Since reciting the refuge in prose form is the actual practice, recite approximately one hundred and six times 'Lama la kyab su chi o' (Tibetan: བླ་མ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིའོ, meaning: I take refuge in the Lama) and so on. Recite 'Dak dang nangwa thamche' (Tibetan: བདག་དང་སྣང་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་, meaning: I and all appearances) etc., generating Bodhicitta through aspiration and entry, and clearly visualize the Four Immeasurables three times. Afterwards, visualize all the refuge objects, like a stacked pagoda, dissolving into the root guru, and then dissolving into light and merging into oneself. In the case of abbreviated inner secret union practices, etc., here, instead of retracting the refuge objects, one can also add the feast guests to it. As heard from Rigdzin Jamyang Khyentse (Tibetan: རིག་འཛིན་འཇའ་ཚོན་ཞལ་ཤེས་, meaning: Vidyadhara Rainbow Body Oral Instructions), Gyaltsab Drakpa Chokyang (Tibetan: རྒྱལ་ཚབ་གྲགས་པ་མཆོག་དབྱངས་, meaning: Regent Drakpa Chokyang): If the refuge field is extensive, visualize the lineage gurus residing like a stacked pagoda, and clearly visualize the complete transmission of the Four Direct Transmissions of Tilopa (Sanskrit: Tilopa). In the intermediate case, the Four Direct Transmissions are not necessary. In the abbreviated case, visualize the essence of the union of all root and lineage gurus, the Rainbow Light Heart Essence (Tibetan: ཀུན་འདུས་འཇའ་ཚོན་སྙིང་པོ, meaning: Union of All Rainbow Heart Essence), on the crown of one's head, and it is sufficient to visualize Vajradhara (Sanskrit: Vajradhara, meaning: Vajra Holder) on the crown of Dakpo Lhaje (Tibetan: དྭགས་པོ་ལྷ་རྗེ་, meaning: Dakpo Lhaje). After that, to accumulate merit, the object of the Tsok offering is: visualize in the space in front, a place like the Sukhavati Pure Land, a palace, a throne, and inconceivable varieties of offerings. Recite 'Thamche du ni' (Tibetan: ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་ནི་, meaning: In all) etc., the four blessings, and 'Malu Semgon' (Tibetan: མ་ལུས་སེམས་མགོན་, meaning: Protector of all beings) etc., inviting the Tsok offering objects from the ten directions, and recite mantras. In the center is the root guru, appearing in the form of Dharma Lord Gampopa (Tibetan: ཆོས་རྗེ་སྒམ་པོ་པ་, meaning: Gampopa Dharma Lord), with the lineage gurus stacked above his head. Surrounding him are other root and lineage gurus, yidams, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and disciples, with dakinis and protectors encircling them in order. Visualize the goddesses bathing the deities, reciting only the bathing mantra, or if you want to practice extensively, recite one verse such as 'Jitar Tam pa' (Tibetan: ཇི་ལྟར་བལྟམས་པ་, meaning: How was born). Visualize the body transforming into dust-like particles, prostrating, reciting 'Gang gi trin gyi' (Tibetan: གང་གི་དྲིན་གྱིས་, meaning: By whose kindness) etc., two verses, while actually prostrating one hundred and eight times, and other words of prostration. Recite 'Jiney Suda' (Tibetan: ཇི་སྙེད་སུ་དག་, meaning: As many as there are) etc., four verses, and any suitable verses such as 'Sangye Thamche Dube Ku' (Tibetan: སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་འདུས་པའི་སྐུ་, meaning: Body embodying all Buddhas). After that, perform the Mandala offering according to the usual ritual, without arranging the thirty-seven heaps of the Mandala, but reciting in prose form. Recite 'Sachi Pojuk' (Tibetan: ས་གཞི་སྤོས་བྱུགས་, meaning: Ground sprinkled with incense) verse one hundred times, and 'Nyechi Mandala' (Tibetan: མཉེས་བྱེད་མཎྜལ་, meaning: Pleasing Mandala) etc., and from 'Metok Dampa' (Tibetan: མེ་ཏོག་དམ་པ་, meaning: Excellent flowers) to 'Chaktsal Chöpar Gyi' (Tibetan: ཕྱག་འཚལ་མཆོད་པར་བགྱི, meaning: I prostrate and offer). If you want to practice the outer, inner, and secret offerings extensively, recite 'Rapjam Gya' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
