For the sake of protecting beings, in the remote and central areas of the snowy land, many profound Dharmas, even more extraordinary than the 'Wish-Fulfilling King' (Yidzhin Wangyi Gyalpo), which effortlessly accomplishes all that is desired, were hidden as treasures. To spread benefit and happiness to the teachings and beings at various times, many incarnate treasure revealers (Tertons) appeared successively. Now, to pacify disharmony towards the teachings and beings and to widely spread all goodness, this undisputed, timely great treasure revealer, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa (mChog gyur bde chen gling pa), the incarnation of Prince Murub Tsenpo (Mu rub btsad po) or Lhasé Damdzin (Lha sras dam 'dzin), son of the Dharma King Trisong Detsen (Khri srong lde'u btsan), in accordance with the prophecies and instructions of Guru Padmasambhava (Gu ru pad+ma 'byung gnas) and his consort, has unearthed many profound treasures and propagated them widely to various individuals according to the auspicious circumstances of time and place. This profound Dharma is based on a Tibetan transcription of Guru Rinpoche's (Gu ru rin po che) handwriting on five nectar papers, which were retrieved from the Namkha Dzö (nam mkha' mdzod) in the southern part of Dokham (mdo khams). From it: 'Like me, Padmasambhava, I composed my own practice, whoever I meet, I will take them to the Dechen field.' And: 'This is the daily practice, after meeting Lhasé (Lha sras) father and son, hand it over to the one who holds the name of the Great Vehicle.' As it is said, through this meaningful and supreme profound Dharma, the profound blessings of the complete four empowerments are bestowed. The duties of the master have been completed beforehand. Now, for you disciples to receive this profound empowerment, please offer a mandala. Then, to purify your continuums, in the space in front of you, visualize the Guru inseparable from the immortal Padmasambhava, surrounded by all the Buddhas, the Three Roots, and the vast assembly of Victors, and recite this seven-branch prayer after me: Namo! For the sake of liberating myself and all sentient beings from suffering, until enlightenment, the objects of refuge are: the Guru, the King who subdues demons, the Three Jewels, and the assembly of Yidams and Dakinis. I will strive to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings, just as the Buddhas of the past have done. I will liberate those who have not been liberated, free those who have not been freed, give respite to sentient beings, and lead them to the cessation of suffering and into Nirvana. May all beings have happiness, be free from suffering, attain the bliss of the noble ones, and abide in equanimity. I invite the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues to come here.
