Like Tötreng Tsal (ེ་ཐོད་ཕྲེང་རྩལ, Wrathful Lotus Master), visualize any deity, large or small. When the deity appears clearly, do not be overly attached. Instead, focus on the clear appearance of the deity and relax into a state of effortless presence. If this is difficult, place a physical object in front of you, such as a deity image, a letter, a twig, or a small stone. Keep your eyes still and do not blink. Focus intently on the object without judging it or thinking about its details. Do not think or meditate on anything; simply relax and let go. In this state, whatever thoughts arise, do not let them continue. Return to the object of focus, without meditating or clinging to anything, maintaining a state of non-thought, clarity, and non-distraction. If you become dull, focus your gaze, adjust your posture, and invigorate your mind. If you become scattered, relax your gaze, adjust your body, and relax deeply from within, settling into a natural state. Similarly, with clear sounds, fragrant smells, or the natural in-and-out flow of breath, simply place your awareness on them without thinking anything. Relax and abide. Alternatively, rest in a state of blankness without any support. Any of these methods is sufficient. When you meditate in this way, you may initially feel that your thoughts increase. However, without judging them as good or bad, continue to practice. Gradually, the thoughts will subside, and you will experience comfort in your body and mind. Your complexion will become radiant, your speech will decrease, and your words will become gentle. Wherever you place your mind, you will abide in a state of non-thought, unwilling to leave or be disturbed, as if firmly held. This is said to be a sign that you have become accustomed to shamatha (奢摩他, śamatha, calmness, tranquility). Second, cultivate vipassanā (毗婆舍那, vipassanā, insight, vision). This has two parts. The first part is to establish that external objects are like the sky, without inherent existence. That is, when we label appearances, all phenomena of appearance, sound, samsara, and nirvana are merely fabrications and manifestations of our own minds. Apart from this, there is nothing that is truly established, not even a particle. Appearance is merely appearance; truth is not truth. These are like illusions or dreamlike appearances, appearing but not truly existing, merely empty and vague. However, this is just labeling. In reality, it transcends the realm of elaboration of existence and non-existence. Therefore, even the notion of grasping it as an illusion is not perceived. Whatever appearance arises, look directly at its own nature. The appearance does not cease, but it is free from the defilement of grasping, like clear, empty, ungraspable space. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let it develop naturally. Second, to completely sever the root of inner clinging, turn the face inward, and one's own mind will generate all kinds of thoughts and ideas. You (referring to the thought), where do you come from first? Where do you stay now? Where will you go in the end? What is the shape? What is the color? Do not be distracted for a moment, trace the origin, and let awareness focus on the pursuit. If you say you have not seen the mind, then, the thought that arises suddenly, look at what it looks like? Who is the person looking? Investigate to the end. If you say it is a non-existent thing, like dust blown away by the wind, is there nothing? Observe carefully. Like this, carefully observe the three states of arising, dwelling, and ceasing, as well as shape, color, and so on. The result is that the person who sees and what is seen, the seer and what is seen, nothing is seen. After searching and analyzing, in the state where nothing can be found, there is nothing to identify and analyze, as empty as the sky, broad and peaceful, there is nothing to do, powerless, detached from all actions. If a clear and naked awareness arises, relax as if resting, let it loosen naturally. Staying like this, there is no thought, all appearances are accompanied by comfort, uninterruptedly, all appearances are equally dwelling in a state of non-attachment, naturalness, relaxation, and openness. Third, practice the union of tranquility and insight: Whether the object appears in the mind, or the mind appears in the object, it is the same. Whatever appears, look at it attentively. Just like the reflection of the moon appears in the pond, the water and the reflection of the moon are not different, the external appearance will not stop, and the inner is free from the defilement of clinging, the appearance and mind are inseparable, self-luminous, clear and bright. In this state, do not do any thinking and analysis, watch naturally. Relax comfortably, let go without a trace, unfold widely, in the boundless state like the sky, relax naturally. At this time, the appearance of the objects of the six senses is also without clinging, self-luminous and clear. The inner mind has no contraction and release of thinking and analysis, naturally liberated and naked. The middle state abides in itself, not bound by the opponent, but uninterruptedly open. It will not be changed by good or bad circumstances, will not be confused by clinging, there is no thought of acceptance and rejection, the clear and clear awareness, directly and thoroughly recognize, and maintain this transparent and naked state, which is Dzogchen --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
