All conditioned appearances of the past, even the smallest dust, have become impermanent; whatever appears in the future will ultimately not exceed this nature; the various external appearances of the present are like last night's dream, appearing at the six sense doors as if they exist, but not truly real, like reflections in a mirror. In reality, these container worlds (referring to the material world we live in) temporarily undergo the changes of the four seasons and are impermanent, and will eventually be destroyed by seven suns and one flood, becoming emptiness. One's own five aggregates, twelve sense bases, and eighteen elements (the elements that make up individual existence) also gradually change due to birth, old age, sickness, and death. In general, all gatherings will eventually separate, all accumulations will eventually be exhausted, all constructions will eventually collapse, and all conditioned phenomena have no essence. In particular, one's own lifespan, like a candle in the wind, is subject to four hundred and four diseases, as well as the intolerable harm of demons, obstacles, and evil conditions, all of which are causes of death, while the causes of survival are minimal. The time, place, companions, and conditions of death are uncertain; death may occur tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or tonight, and cannot be predicted. When the cause of death, i.e., a severe illness, descends, all medicines and rituals lose their effectiveness, the youth and strength of body, speech, and mind decline, interest in food and drink wanes, and accumulated wealth, friendly companions, places of residence, and cherished life are all abandoned, and one goes to a foreign land, a terrifying place, to charnel grounds, remote areas, forests, and riverbanks, becoming food for birds and beasts. The cherished body is abandoned, the given name disappears, and only consciousness alone, like a feather carried by the wind, wanders helplessly and without support in the three realms and six paths, following the karma, without protector or refuge. How sad and frightening! Those who are attached to and cling to this life, think about it! Having explained the impermanence of death, now is the third part, explaining the infallibility of cause and effect, which is the root of the Dharma: Relying on the perfect fruition of past virtuous deeds, one can now enjoy wealth and happiness in the heavenly realms and practice the Dharma accordingly; relying on the fruition of past evil deeds, one now suffers the unbearable pain of the six realms of samsara; because of the mixture of good and evil deeds in the past, one now experiences a mixture of happiness and suffering. For each way of accumulating karma, there is: the creator experiencing the same result as the cause; the ripening result being consistent with the cause. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is said that many karmic results develop, such as the Vipaka fruit (异熟果), the fruit of experiencing a similar cause (领受等流果), the Adhipati fruit (增上果), the Purusakara fruit (士用果), the Visamyoga fruit (离系果), and the fruit of circumstantial power (随势力果). Therefore, the fruit of sin is the suffering of samsara (轮回), and the fruit of virtue is happiness, higher realms, and liberation (解脱). One should carefully examine and contemplate the infallible cause and effect of black and white karma. All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past practiced diligently to abandon sin and cultivate virtue. As the Blessed One (Bhagavan, བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་) said: 'Commit no sin whatsoever; perform virtue in abundance; subdue your mind completely; this is the teaching of the Buddhas.' As it is said, one should confess past sins with remorse, purify them through the four opponent powers, vow never to repeat them, and restrain the mind with the three vows (三律仪). To close the doors to higher realms and lower realms, one should enter the path of the Samadhi (定) of peace, the all-knowing (རྣམ་མཁྱེན་), and abide in solitude with one-pointedness. This is the supreme practice. As Nagarjuna (ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་) said: 'From virtue comes happiness; from non-virtue comes suffering; not abiding in either, there is liberation.' Therefore, one should meditate day and night with one-pointedness on the infallible nature of cause and effect. This is the third point. Fourth, explaining the faults of samsara (轮回) and the benefits of liberation (解脱). First, samsara is the source of endless suffering, the basis of endless suffering, the prison of endless suffering, like a place in a great fire pit where there is no coolness. Wherever one is born in this samsara, there is no opportunity for happiness. Whoever one associates with, they lead one to non-virtuous paths and steal the happiness of liberation. Whatever actions one performs, they only add to the causes for falling into lower realms. Driven by the five poisons (五毒), bound by the eight worldly concerns (八法), one blindly throws oneself into the depths of hell for the sake of food and clothing. Constantly tormented by the four maras (四魔), one has no power to remember the Dharma (法), and one mistakes the appearances of this life for truth and permanence. One engages in wrong views and slander against the holy Dharma, procrastinates, and practices virtue and sin in a reversed manner. There is no escape from the three lower realms and the six realms of existence. This is the suffering of samsara. Impermanence and change are the suffering of samsara. Being tormented and without protection is the suffering of samsara. Having to experience it alone is the suffering of samsara. The benefit of the holy liberation is: realizing the equality of self and others, the appearance of enemies and friends... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
