If it is said that since there is nothing more excellent than verbal expression, there is no need to repeat the teachings, then, the words of the Great Hero are heart-touching, the meaning is beautiful, pleasing to the ear, and has many advantages, which the king has already understood and known in his heart. However, clarifying it again, and gathering the scattered meanings in the vast number of Buddhist scriptures together, makes it like a memorandum that will not be confused. Just like a white house plastered with lime, when moonlight shines on it, it becomes even whiter. The actual text: The actual text is the two dharmas that precede all paths: faith and mindfulness. Faith: Among the categories of faith, the first is how to cultivate faith: The Victorious One taught the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, generosity, discipline, and the six recollections of the gods. Each of these should be recollected for their qualities. The Victorious One said to the retinue: Practice the six recollections of the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, generosity, discipline, and the gods. This is the teaching of the Victorious One. That is, the qualities of the Buddha's body, speech, and mind, the benefits of the Dharma, the qualities of the Sangha, the benefits of generosity and discipline, the qualities of the abodes, bodies, and enjoyments of the gods of the desire and form realms, and how the accumulation of merits from practicing virtuous deeds exists, and remembering them accordingly, is recollection. The gods of the desire and form realms are the result of past virtuous deeds, possessing clairvoyance, and are able to directly see the good and bad deeds of the world, so they think that if they do not practice the Dharma properly, the gods will also feel ashamed. The ordained ones remember them as witnesses. Faith is also divided into faith in a person and faith in the Dharma.

In the duality of acceptance and rejection, remembering the Buddha and the Sangha is faith in the individual, the Purusha. Giving, keeping vows, and remembering the gods are faith in the Dharma, that is, Dharma-anusmriti. Faith in the Dharma is the essence, and faith in giving and keeping vows is personal faith in these two from among the practices and realizations of the Dharma. Remembering the gods is also included in faith in the Dharma because its cause is virtuous deeds. In explaining the conduct of having faith, it is first shown that one must abide in the ten paths of virtuous actions: The ten paths of virtuous actions, body, speech, and mind, should always be practiced, abstaining from all intoxicants, likewise virtuous, and one should also greatly rejoice in one's livelihood. Killing, not giving, and sexual misconduct are the three actions of the body. Lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter are the four actions of speech. Covetousness, malice, and wrong views are the three actions of the mind. Thus, abandoning the ten non-virtues with the mind, and turning away from them with the actions of body and speech, that is, the ten paths of virtuous actions of abandoning the ten non-virtues, body, speech, and mind, should be practiced at the appropriate time, abiding in abandoning sins, and not only that, if one becomes intoxicated with alcohol, one will become unrestrained and engage in non-virtuous actions, therefore one should also abstain from them. Not being in accordance with impure livelihoods such as the property of the Three Jewels, but being a pure livelihood, one should also greatly rejoice in them. After that, in learning the principle of giving, it is shown that there are three reasons why giving must be given, the object of giving, and how to give: Knowing that enjoyment is wavering and without essence, to monks, Brahmins, the poor, friends, etc., giving should be properly bestowed, in the other shore, there is no better relative than giving. Enjoyments are certainly unstable and wavering, separating and decaying, and not only are they decaying and changing, but holding onto enjoyments is also of no benefit to future lives, etc., and because they are certainly separating and without satisfaction, they are without essence, and if enjoyments are given as charity, then in the next world, wealth, happiness, and perfection.
