Then. At that time, King Akshala, son of Haya Lali, had ascended the throne not long ago. He wished to establish his kingdom on the sacred Dharma and encouraged the king himself to perform great deeds of virtue. He himself also built a temple and a residence for monks in the center of the garden, surrounded by stupas, and built many layers of iron walls. At that time, one who served the master was the king's scribe, and the other belonged to the ministers, and they developed evil thoughts towards the master's servants. They secretly conspired, saying, "The three of us should find a way to take possession of these lands." On one occasion, the scribe said to the king, "Lotus Avabhasa certainly wants to rule the kingdom. He and the approximately one thousand monks living in his garden are skilled in tactics and very brave. The garden has also been transformed into a temple." They deceived in this way. But in reality, building strong iron walls, etc., was done for the purpose of fighting the king. When the king asked the ministers, due to the instigation and jealousy of those two ministers, all the ministers agreed with his statement. The king sent out the ministers, including the army. At that time, in Oddiyana (around the 8th century AD, located in the Swat Valley region of present-day Pakistan), the kings did not have laws against killing Brahmins, ascetics, and panditas. The king proclaimed the order, "You, the reciter, and your monastic community of offerings, abandon your possessions and go to another place yourselves." The monastic community left. The master was also about to leave in this way, but the ministers said, "If we do not kill him, he will cause harm to us in the future." So they sent many executioners. When they bound the master with ropes and iron chains, by the power of the mantra, the ropes were cut, the iron chains were shattered, and the weapons were knocked down. The master's body was not harmed, and the weapons were broken into many pieces. Burning with fire also did not burn him, and throwing him into the water disappeared like a bird diving. Throwing him off a cliff also did not harm him. Burying him by digging a hole also allowed him to tunnel away from a great distance, and even if they caught him, they could not hold him.

Then, the master did not go to the cities, but wandered and practiced in cemeteries in other places. The ghosts and rakshasas of the cemeteries became his friends. The former king's scribes, ministers, and executioners, within seven days, some died from their houses being burned down, some committed suicide, and none were spared. The king was also bitten by a venomous snake and passed away. After that, the master stayed in those cemeteries for a long time, becoming friends with powerful beings such as bhutas, rakshasas, flesh-eaters, and dakinis. He diligently practiced the recitation of vidya mantras, and all the Vajra Wrathful Ones, such as the Conqueror of the Three Realms and Yama, the Lord of Death, appeared and he heard their voices. He spoke with Mahakala and the Seven Mothers as if talking to people. He enslaved all the malicious nagas and yakshas. He gained control over a hundred thousand fierce mantras of the mundane and supramundane realms. At that time, together with those powerful non-humans, he repeatedly visited the eight great cemeteries that had existed since the beginning in Jambudvipa, through the power of mantra recitation. There, he also met the eight divine masters who had existed since the beginning, and each achieved a common siddhi. That is, in the cemetery of Ghora Andhakaraṇa, lived a person named Master Dhanuskaraṭa, who achieved the siddhi of the sword. In the densely overgrown cemetery, lived a person named Master Sai-bu, who achieved the siddhi of the pill. In the burning and spreading cemetery, lived a person named Master Nyi-bu, who achieved the siddhi of eye medicine. In the terrifying skull cemetery, lived Master Amritaprabha, who achieved the siddhi of flying shoes. In the Aṭṭaṭṭahasana cemetery, lived Master Shivamkara, who achieved the siddhi of medicine that destroys all diseases. In the Glorious Forest cemetery, lived Master Vararuci, also known as Supreme Desire, who achieved the siddhi of the immortal nectar. In the noisy cemetery, lived Master Naked One, who achieved the siddhi of the treasure vase. In the fierce cemetery, lived Master Ngenpong, who achieved the siddhi of the philosopher's stone. Having obtained these siddhis, he became a vidyadhara. Now he thought, "I will practice and attain Buddhahood." In a dream, he saw the light of the Buddha.
