Here, Tārāśrīmitra asked. Then successively, Saṃghaśrī, Ratnadhāja, Naya Kaśrī, Dharmaśrī, Śākya Rakṣita, Sujāta, Buddhaśrī Bhadra, Jñānaratna, Jñānasyana, Rāte Gupta. From him to the great teacher Śība Spaspa. Also, Kandhava, Pṛka Pa, Dhupi Rāja, Hare Bhañja Pa, Ase Ta Ghana, one can also receive the lineage. Also, Kanakaśrī, Loka Pradha, Chos 'byung zhi ba, etc., it is said that there is also a lineage. Pakki Nagna Pa. Taught by the teacher Mandira Pāla. Thus, in the middle, many different lineages flourished. Later, explaining those that are not recorded elsewhere. Later, the great accomplished one stayed only in the quiet place, so now it is widely developed from there. Among these, those biographies that have already been recorded elsewhere should be understood in those places. Those not recorded here are explained as follows: This Kanakaśrī was born in Nepal, in the place of Kaśrī Mīna Magadha. He was ordained from the community of Kurukulle. In the monastery of subduing all, he expertly studied all the scriptures, tantras, and sciences. In Bengal, he received the empowerment of Guhyasamāja from a paṇḍita named Paṇḍita Dharma Mitra, and although he practiced meditation and recitation for seven years, not even a good sign appeared. He interrupted his meditation and stayed as he pleased. One night, he dreamed that a childless woman prophesied that he should go to the presence of the glorious Nāropa. Then, he requested the empowerment of Cakrasaṃvara from Nāropa, and just by requesting, a good samādhi arose spontaneously. After six months of meditation, he saw the face of Cakrasaṃvara. Again, he attended upon the great Nāropa for seven years, and heard countless tantras. In particular, he was known to be expert in the Cakrasaṃvara, Caturyoga Tantra, and the tantras from which Tārā arises. In Magadha, during the time of King Niyapāla, a follower of Īśvara named Khāsamadeva competed with him in power, and the heretics drew a maṇḍala one cubit long in the sky, and placed a vase. The teacher scattered mustard seeds, the maṇḍala collapsed, and the vase fell. The teacher placed an image of Tārā one tāla high in the sky, and until the teacher himself withdrew it, the heretics could not make it fall by any means, such as mantras and firearms. Then

Teacher Gya! The king invited the expounder of the Bikrama Shila lineage to be the teacher. This person saw Tara's face and, relying on Tara's mantra, performed the activity of mutually subduing, and pacified eight major disputes. Kandhapa was a Buddhist yogi who appeared to be of extremely dull intelligence. He requested empowerments and blessings of Tara's arising from Jowo Naropa. He meditated on the nine deities of Heruka arising from this tantra and practiced for twelve years. He saw the face of Heruka and Tara, attained accomplishment, and could travel a hundred yojanas in an instant. At that time, in the city of Delhi, there was a Mongolian king who was building a new great palace. That teacher was also sewing a corpse and living nearby. When the palace was finished, the corpse was torn into pieces and split open, and the palace also collapsed from its foundations. After this happened three times, the king heard about it and invited the teacher. He prostrated at the teacher's feet and made four vows that arose from the teacher's teachings. The four were: not to harm Buddhist temples, to refrain from killing those who live in the palace, to make offerings to renunciants, and to recite the names of the Buddhas and prostrate every day. Kandhari is the name of the corpse, and thereafter he was known as the accomplished Kandhapa. He benefited beings for a long time, and finally went to the realm of the Dakinis with his physical body. Again, Taka Gina Ganapa, Taka means to make a living through various deceptive activities, and it is said to be one of the bad castes of the borderlands. Naga Kana means powerful or strong. The people of the Taka caste are very strong, so the name was given accordingly. This person also became a yogi and requested Hevajra from a disciple of Mitup Zapa. He meditated single-mindedly on a mountain called Nila in the south for fifteen years, but no signs appeared. So he made a vow to achieve it in another life and jumped off a great cliff. There, his body did not even touch the ground, and a voice came from the sky, saying: You Naropa

Afterwards, he will be taken care of. So it is said. After that, Naropa relied on (him) and requested the initiation of Hevajra. (The master) said, "Your Hevajra will not be accomplished. You need to practice Chakrasamvara, so you need the initiation of Chakrasamvara." For Jowo Naropa, requesting Chakrasamvara was very difficult because it required eight times more offerings than other mandalas. At that time, I had no offerings, and because of my dullness, I had no ability to newly listen to the vast tantras. Then (the master) bestowed the initiation of Tara and also bestowed the tantras. He completely bestowed all the instructions of Chakrasamvara in union, and by practicing single-mindedly, he attained supreme accomplishment. When Naropa was seated at the head of a grand assembly offering, (the master) came to prostrate, and showed many miracles such as his body emitting light and the earth shaking, and then disappeared. At that time, because he did not accomplish the work of benefiting beings, he was not counted among the four accomplished disciples of Naropa. Later, a disciple of Abhayakara named Mandirapala, who was a very good yogi, (the master) appeared to him in person for about a month, bestowed the initiation of Tara, and also bestowed the explanations of the tantras and the instructions. He also practiced diligently, and after six months, he attained accomplishment and eventually went to the realm of the Nagas. It is said that he also had about four disciples, and the lineage also had two or three generations. This tantra had listening and explanations, but the detailed history was not heard. Lilavajra was a member of a royal family. He went to Magadha for some business. On the way, he saw a yogi under a tree and was very devoted, so he prostrated to him. When he returned to his country again, because his wife was having an affair with another man, his mind was hurt, and he came to Magadha again to seek the Dharma. Under that tree, he met the previous accomplished one. That accomplished one was the great Tilopa. There, Tilopa blessed the tantra, bestowed the initiation, and taught the instructions. Before long, he attained accomplishment. It is said that there was someone who played the flute and benefited sentient beings with crazy behavior. The detailed history of this person was not (heard).

Thus it is said. The history of Dīpaṃkara is famous, so it is known elsewhere. Madhyama Siddha was one of Atiśa's disciples, skilled in grammar and the rules of the Sutra Pitaka. He did not know other secret mantras, but was solely proficient in the Tantra of Tara. He also manifested abilities, going to the Ganges River in eastern India without hindrance, as if walking on flat ground, and being able to command poisonous snakes, tigers, and so on. Taraśrī was an excellent debater, winning three times in debates against heretics in Magadha, refuting the debates of the Śrāvakas in the southern region, and it is said that in the land of Kashmir, he overwhelmed all the inner and outer Paṇḍitas with debate, becoming the guru of the King of Kashmir, and subjugated the King of Ghazna with the vidyā-mantra of Tara, bringing him into Buddhism. The history from Saṃghaśrī to Dharmaśrī is not mentioned. Śākya Rakṣita was born in the land of Siṃhala, and was initially a Śrāvaka Saindhapa, being very skilled in that tradition. He belonged to the region of Rakhaṃ, the golden city of Haripuñca, where he heard many teachings on the Prajñāpāramitā and mantra from the teacher Dharmāśīla. In particular, he was mostly proficient in the Hevajra, Cakrasaṃvara, Tara-bhava, and the Black 12-365 Great Black One Tantras. He saw the face of Heruka, and relying on the vidyā-mantra of Tara, he subdued the Great Black One, and it is said that in the form of a virtuous Black One, he could summon any desired object from beyond a hundred yojanas. Caṃgala Rāja, a king, when he began to mobilize troops to destroy the city and temples of Haripuñca, the three-pointed weapon of the Great Black One was thrown, and even though it was far away, requiring a month to travel, the triśūla reached the top of the king's palace and destroyed the palace. Thus, he was known to be endowed with power. Sujāta was the abbot of the Daṇṭapurī monastery in the land of Kombaža, and was ordained from the royal family. Buddhaśrī Bhadra and Jñānarata also came from that same place. Jñānasyāna was born in that place, and from the abbot Jñānarata...
