Just sitting in a posture with the left leg extended, visualize clearly. Imagine that there are ornaments, clothing, and other small details. Meditate on that for a short while, then interrupt it. Visualize clearly and meticulously once again, and hold the mind as before. Meditate in this way again and again. Take a break in between. At the end of the session, imagine that all beings and environments, both self and others, are like mirages, and release awareness loosely. Once accustomed, mirage-like appearances will also arise. This is the second stage of visualization. Second, training in transforming shapes. If you are familiar with the previous visualization, then meditate on this. That is, place a statue or a vajra and bell, or anything else, on a mandala in front of you. Just as you visualize yourself as the deity, visualize that as Vajravarahi. After visualizing it clearly and meticulously, the method of holding the mind on the gross aspects is the same as before. 12-174 The method of interrupting the visualization is the same as before. Resting and taking breaks between sessions are also the same. When ending a session, think that the deity in front of you dissolves into the vaṃ (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) at your navel. This is the third stage of visualization. Third, training in appearance as form. Refuge, bodhicitta, and prayers are done as before. Pillars, vases, walls, trees, pebbles, etc., all the objects around you, visualize them clearly as the body of Vajravarahi. From those objects, choose any object of visualization that appears clearly. Visualize it diligently and clearly as Vajravarahi, and meditate with strong awareness. Imagine that the others appear vaguely as deities. The aspects of visualization, such as resting, are the same as before. If one is clear, then train in two or three, etc., gradually training. This is the fourth stage of visualization. Thus, the first method of meditation, which is training in form, is well completed. Training in Wind. Second, training in wind, which is divided into training in gathering wind and training in purifying wind. First: It comes from the common instructions. Refuge, bodhicitta, and prayers, the preliminaries of the session, are done as before. The posture of the body is arranged in accordance with the seven aspects of Vairochana. Visualize yourself as the clear form of Vajravarahi, with a red vaṃ (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: वं) at the navel in the center of the body. Eight fingers measured upwards from the tip of the nostril of the root channel.

In the space directly in front, visualize a Joyful Swirl (Tibetan: དགའ་བ་འཁྱིལ་བ།), a four-armed deity. The color is red, as if written with madder juice, visualize a Joyful Swirl facing you, rotating to the left. The definite location for this visualization is: not measuring eight fingers straight up from the tip of the nose, but considering it to be slightly upward, meaning, from the level of the center of the forehead, visualize in the space four fingers away from the forehead without touching it. Generally, there is no specific size for the Joyful Swirl, but it is considered sufficient to visualize it as the size of a thumbnail. After that, exhale impure air three times, and maintain the union of gentle breaths. This only requires binding the downward-moving air in its place, without needing to pull it upwards. From the Bam (Tibetan: བཾ་) syllable at the navel, a bluish-gray, thin smoke-like substance rises upwards like the smoke of burning incense. It exits from the nostril through which the breath flows, touching the Joyful Swirl in the space, and visualize it rapidly rotating to the left. When the flow of breath in the left and right is clear, visualize it in this way; if the flow is unclear or simultaneous, then it is necessary to visualize it flowing from both nostrils simultaneously. This needs to be visualized for a few days, so consider the small goal as one visualization cycle. The subsequent practices after the session are the same as before, except that instead of visualizing a rainbow-like halo, visualize a smoke-like form. After getting used to this, visualize the Joyful Swirl rotating in the space six fingers above the tip of the nose, the rest is the same as before. This also needs to be visualized for a few days, so count it as one visualization cycle. Similarly, visualize the Joyful Swirl rotating at the position measured four fingers from the tip of the nose, the rest is the same. This also needs to be visualized for a few days, so count it as one visualization cycle, and focus the mind on the Joyful Swirl rotating inside the tip of the nose, the rest is the same as before. This is also one small visualization cycle. In short, for these four sections, in general, the length of time is adjusted according to the clarity of the visualization and the effort applied. Although there is no strict rule for the number of days, if the clarity of visualization is medium, and each session involves about sixty-four breaths for each of the four sessions, then each of these should be practiced for seven days. After that, each session in the morning, etc., should be divided into four small segments, making each a small session.
