Also, chant the mantra twenty-one times (three sets of seven) before consumption, and the menstruation will cease. Another method: If a woman's fetus dies in the womb and cannot be expelled, take water, add a small amount of Asafoetida (a medicinal herb) to your hand, chant the mantra one hundred and eight times, and have her drink it. The fetus will then be expelled. Another method: If someone suffers from hemorrhoids for many years without relief, take one qian (a unit of weight) of Hu Fen (white lead powder, a type of pigment), three qian of mercury, and seven dried dates (pitted). Grind these three ingredients into a powder and make pills. Wrap a thin piece of cotton around a pill and insert it into the lower part of the body. It will heal in three to five days. If making a larger batch of pills, divide the ingredients proportionally. Chant the mantra twenty-one times (three sets of seven) before insertion, and it will heal. Also, if someone suffers from 㿃下 (a disease name, referring to diseases of the genital area), chant over powdered red ochre and mix it with water to make pills. Dry them in the sun and swallow them with wine. Chant the mantra twenty-one times (three sets of seven), twice a day, taking forty pills each time. Applying it to the eyes will prevent sleep; eating it will prevent hunger. Out of compassion for all sentient beings, I will now explain the method of creating the image of the Water Deva (水天) according to one's wishes: Carve the image of the Water Deva from white sandalwood, five inches tall, in the form of a celestial maiden, with three eyes on her face, wearing a celestial crown on her head, and adorned with celestial garments and necklaces. Holding a wish-fulfilling jewel (如意宝珠) in both hands. Alternatively, you can create an image of the Water Deva that is two and a half inches tall. After creating it, place it in a wooden box, store it in a brocade bag, and tie it to the left arm. This altar encompasses all altars and can fulfill all wishes. The outer courtyard of this altar is three feet square, the middle courtyard is two feet square, and the inner courtyard is one foot square. All must first dig away the impure soil, and then make it with clean soil. Mix the soil with fragrant juice to make it smooth. Mix clean, sieved lime with cinnabar, red soil, or rice flour, etc., to make a lotus pedestal to support the image of Avalokiteshvara (观音). If there is no cinnabar, red soil can also be used. Place the seats of the Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王) on the four corners of the innermost courtyard. It must be drawn on a square altar. Only frankincense and aloeswood incense can be burned. First invite the Buddha, all the Bodhisattvas, and the Divine Kings, and after everything is completed, scatter flowers. Then return to the seat and chant the mantra one hundred and eight times. You must make vows to do good deeds. Then get up and circumambulate the altar three times. Then return to the seat and chant the mantra one hundred and eight times, until it reaches ten thousand times. Then get up and stand on the side of the south gate, chant the mantra to make the bowl spin, and you will know if it is effective. This is the method for initially receiving and upholding the mantra.
