Just as the stainless moon of autumn brings joy to the eyes, may even the smallest portion of my merits become a cause of happiness for the entire world. Moreover, may even the breaths I exhale bring immeasurable happiness to other sentient beings. These are the wishes that when I attain the supreme, perfect, and complete enlightenment from the womb, there will be no sentient beings in that Buddha-field who have gone to the realm of animals. In that field, there will be no fear of thieves, no desolation of water, and no desolation of famine. May all sentient beings be happy, possess happiness, and be with happiness. To that end, I will steadfastly exert myself to purify the Buddha-field. Thus it is said. This includes the vows of completion, maturation, and purification, and their ultimate fulfillment. In the stage of learning, it is making vows; in the stage of Buddhahood, it is ultimate fulfillment. The learning of these three is of the same essence, but differentiated by aspects. In the Buddha-stage, in order to accomplish the spontaneously accomplished body for the benefit of others, one needs to study the ten perfections (Pāramitās); in order to ensure that when that body benefits sentient beings, all the retinues will be matured, one needs to study the ten perfections; in order to ensure that the field where that body attains Buddhahood is free from the faults of both the environment and the inhabitants, one needs to study the ten perfections. Therefore, all three study the ten perfections. Therefore, when these three are ultimately fulfilled, they also accomplish one essence. Studying the measure of having completed the three: completion, maturation, and purification of the result. Second, after explaining the measure of the ultimate completion of the three: completion, maturation, and purification of the result, there are three aspirations for it: to aspire to benefit matured sentient beings in a pure field for the sake of the form body; to aspire to show emanations of the body even to unmatured sentient beings in an impure field; to aspire that even if the emanations of the body are withdrawn, the activity will not cease. The first is further divided into three: first, identify the measure of the complete aspiration, and then aspire to it; second, explain the measure of the maturation of sentient beings, and then make this the content of the aspiration; finally, explain the measure of the purification of the field, and then strive to realize it. The first point is, after attaining Buddhahood, which is extremely rich in qualities such as strength and has completely fulfilled all the benefits of oneself and others, may I place all beings who are to be tamed in that very noble, virtuous, and wise state of Buddhahood. Thus. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding that explanation, the first two lines of the verse express the extent of the fulfillment of the aspiration, and the latter two lines express its function. Secondly, when one becomes a Buddha and establishes the beings to be tamed in that very state, may not even the slightest misdeed arise in the minds of any of the beings to be tamed, and may they always engage in activities that benefit others, abiding in the path of the ten virtues, which is endowed with the fruit of goodness. Here too, the first two lines express the extent of maturation, and the latter two express its function. 'Maturation' does not refer to maturing beings to be tamed after becoming a Buddha, but rather, in order for all beings to be tamed to arise purely in the realm where one has become a Buddha, it is necessary to explain that the accumulation of merit at the place of learning in the past has been brought to completion. As it says in the Mother Sutra: 'As it is said, having matured sentient beings, one manifests the ultimate reality.' Thirdly, may any sentient being in the realm where one has become a Buddha never even see the states of the lower realms in a dream, and may all the states of the lower realms be filled with the states of happiness, like the world of the gods, taking delight in joy. Here too, the first two lines express the extent of the purification of the realm, and the latter two express its function. Secondly, if some sentient beings who are not yet fully matured happen to be in that realm, and if the realm of the vessel becomes bad due to their faults, will they completely pass into nirvana? No, it is not so. Even if some sentient beings are caught in the midst of the ocean of non-virtue of the three realms, at that time, even if one's own activities as a Buddha, the turning of the wheel of Dharma, have been completely perfected, one will remain without passing into nirvana for the sake of that immature sentient being until he or she is fully matured. Alternatively, it should be explained that even if the activities of a Buddha are perfected in one realm, it is necessary to continuously show the activities of a Buddha in another realm. Thirdly, when the Bodhisattva I show the manner of becoming a Buddha and going into nirvana, may the scriptures that I have spoken never be disturbed by those who fabricate them, and may none of those who hear, contemplate, and practice those scriptures ever enter into the noose of doubt, even for a moment, and may all the holy Dharma of the Victorious Ones be in accordance with the intention of the Victorious Ones. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
