《The Key》 This is a question-and-answer record by Gomchen Yeshe Zangpo, titled 'The Way to Recognize Various Views - The Key to the Essentials'. Namo Buddhaya! This is the recognition of various views by the wise men of the snowy land, called 'The Key to the Essentials'. I prostrate to the Omniscient One, who dispels the fog of various views! In the snowy land of Tibet, Regarding the different claims of various views, All agree that the wisdom of realizing emptiness should be used to dispel the darkness of ignorance. Regarding the method of selflessness and the realization of selflessness, and the recognition of the realization of selflessness, it can be divided into three types: the treatises of the Madhyamaka school, tantras, and oral instructions. The views of the initial and intermediate turnings of the wheel of Dharma can be divided into two types: Yogachara Madhyamaka, and those who advocate the absence of inherent existence of two entities. The initial turning of the wheel and the third turning of the wheel explain the views of the Prajnaparamita Sutra, and are based on the treatises of Maitreya Bodhisattva and the collection of praises by Nagarjuna. There are also views of hearing and thinking, as well as views of experience, generalizing, or distinguishing between the two, resulting in two different viewpoints. The former is based on the Five Treatises of Maitreya, and the four treatises of the brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu. The latter completely follows the treatises of the Abhisamayalankara. Through unbiased reasoning and argumentation, it is known that the nature of the three unborn wisdoms should be taken as the object of experience. Those who advocate the absence of inherent existence establish the argument of their own school: The venerable Chandrakirti, the ultimate views of the two are consistent. Regarding the emptiness of experience, whatever is argued through reasoning, there is no other explanation besides that, it is merely negation. These teachers believe that apart from conventional truth, there is no other Dharma, and conventional truth is also an illusory appearance, therefore, it is ultimately free from all elaborations. If it is admitted that freedom from elaboration is the object of the wisdom of omniscience, then the wisdom of omniscience is either conceptual thought, or the nature of freedom from elaboration. This school believes that the base, path, and result of the three stages are all emptiness, because they do not go beyond the scope of negation, so they do not recognize self-awareness wisdom. Even so, how does the appearance of conventional truth manifest, through the accumulation of merit, when the causes and conditions are ripe, the other two bodies will naturally manifest. The wisdom of the fully enlightened Buddha, does not manifest self-appearing conventional truth, but because he knows the true nature of all things, therefore he is able to prophesy, and is omniscient. For the non-affirming negation like the sky, the method of realization is hearing and thinking, and familiarizing oneself through faith and attention, in this way... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the wisdom of the path of seeing arises, emptiness will be directly realized. Although the wisdom of realization is explained as a view, because the subject and emptiness are mixed, calling the unseen as seen. The Pramana-vada and the followers of Chandrakirti say that the second pramana does not realize emptiness. This view is in accordance with all the tenets of Prasangika and Svatantrika. Secondly, the experiential emptiness explained in the tantric scriptures, and the treatises that follow the Maitreya's teachings, will be explained here. For this, the emptiness analyzed by reason should not be explained as a meditation object, because emptiness is the wisdom vajra itself. Through habituation, the dualistic thoughts of grasping and being grasped can be eliminated. The primordial awareness that is free from the two, grasping and being grasped, is the root of the generation stage. This awareness is explained as the basis for the practice of deities and mantras in the generation stage. The view to be realized is this awareness, and the supreme method to realize it is the descent of wisdom and empowerment. This is not proven by reason. The experience of non-dual wisdom, self-awareness wisdom is the view, and it is explained in the tantra of means. First, what arises is the example wisdom, and what appears is wisdom. This wisdom is called the view of the generation stage, and the union of samsara and nirvana. Because the means to realize this wisdom is the vase empowerment and its related content in tantra, it is called the view of empowerment, but it is not that it is not in the Paramita Vehicle. The wisdom obtained from the vase empowerment can achieve the union body in this life. Taking the self-blessing of the order as practice is the completion stage. The co-emergent wisdom to be realized is the self-blessing of direct realization. Because other schools do not have this, the tantric vehicle is particularly superior. The four empowerments are also merely the means to realize the co-emergent wisdom, and there is no difference. The wisdom of realization is also the same as the view, but in the generation stage, wisdom is visualized as a deity, and in the completion stage, the deity is visualized as wisdom. Through this distinction, one can understand the practice methods of the two stages. What is realized is the inseparability of samsara and nirvana, and the means of realization is the four empowerments related to the empowerment sequence, only the respective views are explained. Here, the deity realm that is superior to the non-proliferation of the Paramita Vehicle and the wisdom without the two grasps will not be explained. The excellent means of realization is great bliss. Third, the oral instructions widely known in Tibet, such as Dzogchen, Mahamudra, Shije, Lamdre, Five Stages, Six Yogas, etc., each hold their own views. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
