He (the objector) says, 'The powerful force of heat touch universally overwhelms, from which it can be correctly inferred that where it is overwhelmed, cold touch does not continuously exist.' Because these three conditions are met. If said so, then this reason is not established. If it is said, 'If that is so, then it is excluded,' then, taking the powerful fire as the premise of universal overwhelming, it can be inferred that cold touch continuously exists, because it exists as a substance. Why is it said so? Because you are incompatible with it (cold touch). Why is it said so? Because you are a correct reason for contradictory opposition that relies on incompatibility with proving its non-existence. Why is it said so? Because you are the correct reason for proving its non-existence, you must be that.' The former reason is direct, the latter is exclusive. He (the objector) says, 'On the thing that is the premise, it is admitted that this is a correct contradictory opposition reason that relies on proving its mutual exclusion opposition, but not admitted on other things.' If said so, then, the correct contradictory opposition reason that relies on the incompatible thing that proves its non-existence, as a premise, it is impossible for you to exist, because if the basis is established, you must not exist. If the reason is admitted but not established, then, if the basis is established, it must exist, and this commitment will have a direct error, because it is not universal. If admitted, then what direct error will occur?' 'Powerful heat touch.' If said so, then you speak well, taking powerful heat touch as the premise, it is impossible for you to be a correct contradictory opposition reason that relies on incompatible things to prove its existence, because you are a correct argument that proves its mutual exclusion opposition. The reason is excluded, it is a direct contradiction. Furthermore, taking the vase as the premise, it can be inferred that it is knowable, because it can be measured. If the place where the measure has not observed the counter-evidence, then, such counter-evidence exists, because both the reason and the universality of the counter-evidence are established. If it is not established, then, if it can be measured, it will be excluded. Taking the vase as the premise, it can be inferred that it is measurable, because you are not the object of negation of the vase.' This can be established. Furthermore, taking it as the premise, such counter-evidence exists, because the counter-evidence can get a meaningful answer. If it is not established, then, taking it as the premise, it can be inferred that the vase is knowable, because you are not the object of negation of the vase. If admitted, then it is a direct contradiction. Furthermore, taking the place where Devadatta has not been observed by measure as the premise, Devadatta exists, because Devadatta promised that sound is impermanent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because the meaning of the vow is established by valid cognition. Why? Because the impermanence of sound is established by valid cognition. The opponent says: 'In the pure place of that pervasion, the pervasion of that pervasion is established by valid cognition.' Why? Because in that pure place, if it is measurable, then it is pervaded by being knowable. If they are the same, then they are not the same. Because there exists a general pervasion, but not a specific pervasion. For example, if there is smoke, it does not pervade fire. Why? Because at the time of smoke, there is smoke, so at the time of smoke, it does not pervade fire. The pervasion has been promised. Furthermore, the place purified by both the pillar and the pot, the nature of things, both the pillar and the pot exist. Why? Because the pillar exists, and the pot also exists. They exist individually. Why? Because it is not the refutation of this and that. If it is not established, the place purified by both the pillar and the pot, if it is the refutation of the pot, then it must be. Why? If you want to admit it, the place purified by the pillar, the nature of things, why? Why? If it is not established, why? Because both the pillar and the pot do not exist, and they share the same basis of location. If it is not established, then the pillar exists. Furthermore, the basis where all pots do not exist, the nature of things, all pots exist. Gold, silver, copper, stone, wood, and clay pots exist. Other pots also exist individually. If it is not established, then the gold pot exists. Because it is not its refutation. If it is not established, if the basis where all pots do not exist, then the gold pot must not exist. Furthermore, the gold pot, the nature of things, if you exist, then you must be a distinction of the pot. Because you are a distinction of the pot. If you want to admit it, then it has been promised. Except for the gold pot, all other pots that have not been perceived by valid cognition, the nature of things, why? Why? If you want to admit it, then it is not a gold pot but a pot, then it is not established. The opponent says: 'In the place purified by the pot, on top of the nature of things, the pot does not exist.' Because there is no pot there. If that is the case, then on the ground of the Buddha, on top of the nature of things, there is no obscuration. Because there is no obscuration on his ground. The realm of formlessness, on top of the nature of things, there is no form. Because there is no form in the realm. If you want to admit it, then that nature of things, has form. Because there is a form body. Furthermore, the ignorant ones say: 'The refutation of pillars and pots exists, but the refutation of sound and omniscience, and the perfectly enlightened Buddha, etc., does not exist.' The refutation of sound exists. Because the realm of formlessness is its refutation. Why? Because it does not exist there. The refutation of omniscience... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
