As it is said, 'For peace and eternity.' Therefore, the brief answer to this question is as follows: In the great chariots (referring to the Buddhist traditions) of the snowy land (Tibet), there are two views: one view holds that all sentient beings possess the Tathagatagarbha (Buddha-dhatu, Sanskrit, Tathāgatagarbha, Sanskrit Romanization, Tathāgatagarbha, Womb of the Thus-Come-One), and the other view does not. The first view is further divided into two: one believes that the essence of the Tathagatagarbha is not distinguished by qualities (gunas) such as the ten powers, but is understood in terms of negation (prasajya-pratisedha); the other believes that the essence of the Tathagatagarbha is distinguished by qualities in terms of non-negation (paryudasa-pratisedha). The representative of the first view is: Ngok Lotsawa (translator) and his followers. The representative of the second view is: Omniscient Dolpopa and his successive lineages. The second view, which holds that sentient beings do not possess the Tathagatagarbha, is represented by: Sakya Pandita and the Second Omniscient Buton, and others. There is also a view that the essence of the Tathagatagarbha is the purely pure aspect of self-nature (prakrti-parisuddha), and another view that the essence of the Tathagatagarbha is the inseparable collection of qualities. In the second view, there are again two types: one believes that these qualities are the qualities of the Dharmakaya (Body of Truth) of enlightenment, which have a decisive effect; the other believes that these qualities are the qualities of the self-nature Dharmakaya. The representative of the first view is: most of the Klokpa school, which later became well-known in the snowy land. The representative of the second view is: Phagmo Drupa and many holders of the Drukpa Kagyu lineage. The representative of the third view is: Panchen Sonam Drakpa and some others. This view is reliable for you, so here it is also believed that: all sentient beings are not truly perfectly enlightened Buddhas' Tathagatagarbha, because if they were, it would lead to the fallacy that all sentient beings are truly perfectly enlightened Buddhas. Sentient beings have the Tathagatagarbha because all sentient beings are self-nature Buddhas. Even so, it cannot be determined that they have the Tathagatagarbha, because even if they are Buddhas, they do not necessarily have the Tathagatagarbha, and if they are Tathagatas, they must directly realize Suchness (Tathata). It is certain that this is what you believe. Secondly, the argument that the two Rupakayas (Form Bodies) are not the decisive factor of the Buddha is divided into two: the refutation of 'is' (that the Rupakaya is the Buddha) and the establishment of 'is not' (that the Rupakaya is not the Buddha). The first refutation is: the body of the deity that appears on the pure vaidurya ground is the deity's body itself, because in the continuum of the one to be tamed, in the mirror of completely pure wisdom, the Sambhogakaya (Enjoyment Body) that appears is the Buddha's body itself. The argument that these two have equal power comes from the Ratnagotravibhāga, as it says: 'Just like the vaidurya ground...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like the image of the king of gods appearing in a clear and pure place, similarly, the image of the Mighty One (a title for Shakyamuni Buddha) appears on the pure ground of sentient beings' minds. Secondly: For ordinary beings, a completely pure continuum appears as the supreme emanation body; for noble Bodhisattvas, it appears as the enjoyment body. These are not the body of the Buddha, because they are apprehended by the mind of the sentient being to whom they appear. The pervasion of this reasoning is: all appearances are the mind of the one who perceives them. Even the tenets of the Shravaka schools can understand this, let alone the scripturalists and yogis who have already established this in the Great Vehicle, the teachings of the Buddha. Therefore, the two form bodies are called conventional bodies, because they are apprehended by the mindstream that is obscured by ignorance. The proof of this is: it is impossible for a conventional truth to be apprehended by the wisdom of the Buddha, because in that state, there is no such thing as 'the object attained through false vision'. Even so, it is not that one asserts that the three bodies are not complete in the state of Buddhahood, because it is impossible for a Buddha to exist without the three bodies being complete. Moreover, the Ornament of the Sutras and other scriptures explain that mirror-like wisdom itself is the enjoyment body, and accomplishing activity wisdom itself is the supreme emanation body. Furthermore, Master Senge Zangpo explains that the third body (Dharmakaya) is non-different from the essence body. The second part is to examine the questioner's intention, which is divided into three aspects: one should not think that the naturally abiding lineage does not possess essence; one should not think that the three vows separately do not exist as uncontaminated mindstreams in sentient beings' minds; one should not think that the signs and marks of the form body are inanimate objects. The first point is: generally speaking, explaining the naturally abiding lineage as the element of phenomena of the mind with defilements is the common view of Mahayana Buddhists. Among them, regarding the recognition of the element of phenomena, considering the wisdom of non-duality of grasper and grasped as the view of the later Maitreya school, and considering non-affirmation (emptiness) as the view of the Madhyamaka school. As long as one accepts the term 'naturally abiding lineage', then the former view (Maitreya school) is more reasonable, because it must be accepted as the cause of the noble dharmas. Whichever view is adopted, one must accept that the naturally abiding lineage is the intention of essence, as it is said in the sutra: 'Because there is lineage, therefore...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
