As it was said. Secondly, setting those two aside, why don't suffering and origination consider 'Dharma-knowledge' (chos shes, धर्मज्ञान, dharmajñāna, knowledge of Dharma) and 'Subsequent-knowledge' (rjes shes, अनुज्ञान, anujñāna, subsequent knowledge) as antidotes to the higher realms? Because the objects of the former two are solely unpolluted, and the unpolluted that becomes their object can serve as an antidote to the three realms. The latter two, however, only focus on suffering and origination included in the desire realm, and these two cannot serve as antidotes to the higher realms. So, what is the path that is the object of 'Dharma-knowledge' of the path? How does one know it in that way? What is the reason that knowing it in that way can serve as an antidote to the higher realms? The answer is twofold: the actual answer, and that it also represents the cessation of 'Dharma-knowledge'. Firstly, the answer here is: it is a meditative path that directly realizes the sixteen aspects such as impermanence. From the perspective of separately acting as antidotes to the three realms, they are separately named the path truth of the desire realm and the path truth of the higher realms. The way to know it is: to establish the path through reasoning, to know it in the manner of definite emergence. That is, the very nature of the path itself, from the perspective of acting as an antidote to the desire realm, knowing it as having the characteristics of the path, etc., is called 'Dharma-knowledge'; from the perspective of acting as an antidote to the higher realms, knowing it as having its characteristics is named 'Subsequent-knowledge'. The reason it can serve as an antidote to the higher realms is that the path is separately named 'Dharma-knowledge' and 'Subsequent-knowledge', but in reality, it is only the meditative path that directly realizes the sixteen aspects, knowing it as the nature of the path, etc., and there is nothing else besides that. Therefore, the 'Dharma-knowledge' and 'Subsequent-knowledge' of suffering and origination are different from this. So, can the 'Subsequent-knowledge' of the path also become an antidote to the desire realm? Is the reason the same as above? No. Because when the 'Subsequent-knowledge' of the meditative path arises, one has already become detached from desire for the desire realm. As it is said: 'Not following the desire realm.' Secondly, the way of 'Dharma-knowledge' of cessation, and the reason it can serve as an antidote to the higher realms, are also established by this. There are two doubts about this: being the same as the antidote seeing path, and abandoning what is to be abandoned, being the same as afflictions. Firstly, can the 'Dharma-acceptance' (chos bzod, धर्मक्षान्ति, dharmakṣānti, Dharma-acceptance) of the path also abandon the seeing abandonment of the higher realms? Is the reason the same as what you said? It is not the same. Because once the nature of the path truth, the antidote to the three realms, has been directly seen, immediately following that, the nature of the path, the antidote to the desire realm... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Knowing and becoming familiar with this, and knowing and becoming familiar with the nature of the antidote path truth of the upper realms, although these two are distinguished by name and what is to be abandoned, they actually converge on the same meaning, so the above reasons are not mistaken. For the case of seeing what was previously unseen, although one can directly see the nature of the antidote path truth of the desire realm, it is possible that one cannot directly see the nature of the antidote path truth of the upper realms. As it is said: 'To see the unseen, one sees the path.' Second, if the wisdom of the path (道智识) has abandoned what is to be abandoned in its own division, then does the subsequent wisdom (后得智) also abandon it? Because this is the same commitment. There are two ways to answer. The first is that the single path of cultivation called 'wisdom of the path (道智识)' itself, when cultivated and attended to as the antidote to the upper realms, does not transform into subsequent wisdom (后得智), so there is no contradiction. The second is that, or rather, it is not incapable in the desire realm, because what is to be abandoned by the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of the path of cultivation is also what is to be abandoned by the wisdom of the path (道智识). The second is the determination of subsequent wisdom (后得智), which is to contemplate the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of suffering and origin, and the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of cessation and path. First, the suffering and origin below the realm of nothingness are not counted here, because they do not focus on the aggregates included in the peak of existence (有顶天). Second, contemplate the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of cessation and path. It is divided into contemplating the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of cessation and contemplating the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of the path. First, the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of cessation that is the antidote to the peak of existence (有顶天) needs to be counted as eight according to the differences of the eight grounds, because the subsequent wisdom (后得智) that focuses on the cessation of the first dhyana (初禅) does not focus on the cessation of other grounds, and so on, because the objects of focus are different. As it is said: 'The cessation of one's own ground is the object of the field of experience.' Second, although the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of the path that is the antidote to the peak of existence (有顶天) has eight names, it is sufficient to count it as one, because the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of the path that is the antidote to the first dhyana (初禅) focuses on the path truth that is the antidote to the eight grounds, and so on, because the ways of focusing are the same. As it is said: 'The path is the mutual cause, the path of the six and nine grounds is the object of its field of experience.' Here, because Dharma and subsequent wisdom (后得智) mutually incline, I contemplate its meaning and extract some details. If the subsequent wisdom (后得智) that focuses solely on the cessation of the first dhyana (初禅) can abandon what is to be abandoned by the subsequent wisdom (后得智) of the cessation of the peak of existence (有顶天), how can it do so? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
