It is said that even the appearance of illusion is taught as conventional truth (kunrdzob bdenpa). Do you hold that in the realm of omniscient wisdom, all conventional truths are known in the manner of their self-appearance? Just as there are no dreams in the mind after awakening, it is said that in the wisdom of a fully enlightened Buddha, there is no appearance of objects. If the vision of omniscient wisdom is mistaken, do you hold that it does not exist even in the realm of convention (tha snyad)? You explain three ways of knowing conventional truth: true, false, and without appearance. Just as all three do not exist when one is awake, do you hold that saying a fully enlightened Buddha has the appearance of conventional truth is the tenet of Nagarjuna (Klu sgrub)? You say that on the path of valid cognition (tshad ma) for distinguishing between truth and falsehood, existence and non-existence are explained. Is it your tenet that in the realm of valid cognition of conventional truth, it exists but is explained as false? Is it your state of affairs that conventional truth is false and only Nirvana (mya ngan 'das) is true? Do you have a situation where the two truths (bden gnyis) are equally established by the valid cognition of your own system? Having analyzed your own tenets such as Sutra-mind (mdo sems), you establish nominal truth. Without relying on worldly treatises, how do you uphold the establishment of nominal truth? You say that however many valid cognitions establish nominals, they are not valid cognitions of the Madhyamaka (dbu ma) school. Is it your tenet to explain as valid cognition even the consciousness defiled by the illusion of dualistic appearance (gnyis snang)? Having entered the Madhyamaka tenet, you say that all conventional dharmas are empty of their own essence (rang bzhin). Do you hold that saying that the eye and form, etc., are each their own, is the Madhyamaka tenet? As long as you accept ultimate truth (don dam bdenpa), it is said that it itself is not empty. Is it your tenet that ultimate truth and emptiness of essence are a single basis of contradiction? When explaining that all phenomena are free from elaboration (spros), the nature of ultimate truth --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You do not accept 'being free from extremes, that itself is the ultimate truth.' Do you acknowledge that this is your tenet? You state that 'all phenomena are empty,' and 'empty' means 'self-empty' [because its own nature is, therefore the eye is empty by the eye. etc.]. Do you acknowledge that after admitting that things themselves are themselves, your claim of 'self-empty' is your view? You state that 'a pot is not a pot,' and things themselves are not empty of themselves, this is the way to establish conventional truth. Do you think that even on the conventional level, claiming that all phenomena are empty of their own nature [also negates thinking about the results of actions.] is your tenet? You state that the respective appearances of the six realms [flowing water], hair [long hair, etc.], are the same as the objects of deluded perception. Do you think that whatever appears exists, is this the way to establish conventional truth in your tenet? [After acknowledging the existence of external objects, water and drinks, etc.] You state that what cannot be found by the reasoning that seeks the meaning of what is expressed is the measure of non-inherent existence. Do you think that at the beginning of determining non-inherent existence, it is necessary to first show the measure of true existence? Because there are reasons for examples and knowledge of non-inherent existence, it is easier to show to others [among true existence and non-true existence, the latter is easier to determine]. You say that because there are no reasons for examples and knowledge of proving self-nature, it cannot be stated. When analyzing being free from extremes, why is conventionality needed? You state that there is no commitment in the ultimate. Do you think that refuting the views of others and establishing one's own views is the way to explain the great freedom from extremes? You do not accept that after admitting that things themselves such as pots are themselves, all phenomena are not empty of themselves, this is the meaning of 'self-empty'. Do you think that things are not empty of themselves, but empty of true existence established by valid cognition, is this not the view of other-empty? [It is not empty of itself, but empty of being established by other true existence.] You state that just as the way of establishing 'I' and 'chariot' is the same, things themselves are empty of themselves, this is the meaning of the two selflessnesses. But do you think that simultaneously stating that 'I' and 'chariot' exist [established by valid cognition.] is your tenet? You state that phenomena and persons are empty of themselves, this is the meaning of the two selflessnesses. Do you think that your phenomena [non-true existence.] is only distinguished by each phenomenon itself is your tenet? You state that the basis, reason, and example are acknowledged by others, this is the meaning of what is called 'other-established'. Do you think that the three aspects established by valid cognition are the meaning of 'other-established'?
