Furthermore, regarding the extensive commentaries on the 'Vinaya Sutra' and the 'Karma Shataka,' although there isn't much need to refute the impurities, a thorough explanation is necessary. Concerning the Higher Abhidharma, although there were no later distortions in the Land of Snows (Tibet), due to the great prevalence of listening and contemplation in earlier times, it is necessary to refute those that have been distorted and to extensively elaborate on the profound views of one's own tradition. Although there are very few distorted explanations of the Higher Abhidharma, either earlier or later, the power of the extensive commentaries and sub-commentaries allows for the explanation of unique viewpoints that are not found in other Tibetan or non-Tibetan treatises. Extensive explanations are given for treatises that explain philosophical tenets from a unique perspective. The collections of Madhyamaka-Prasangika and Svatantrika texts are left as they are, and it seems easy to explain them to those who have imprints of the definitive meaning (Nītārtha). However, in the Land of Snows, at this time when there is a heavy burden of texts that lead the definitive meaning astray, it is necessary to provide explanations of the treatises that are free from adulteration, to distinguish later explanations, and to provide extensive explanations. Asanga has already explained the words and definitive meaning of the Five Treatises of Maitreya, which should have been explained by the Dharma Lord himself, but later in the Land of Snows, due to the common belief that Madhyamaka-Prasangika is the most supreme, Maitreya's teachings have been bound in a swamp of error, and it is necessary to provide extensive explanations to lift them out of this swamp. Refute the distorted explanations of the Sakya treatises and provide extensive explanations. Furthermore, regarding the general methods of explaining the scriptures, the definitive meaning of the profound secret mantras, the establishment of the Three Turnings of the Wheel of Dharma, and so on, those who have become like a continuous stream of eloquent teachers, as recorded in the treatises, proclaim the fearless lion's roar in the midst of the vast assembly. Then, for about seven days, the senior teachers in the various colleges and monastic schools debated in pairs, discussed in the marketplace, and engaged in debates and rational discussions. In the medium-sized monastic schools, debates were conducted in the same manner as before. As for the others, in front of the spacious Dharma seat, those in charge of administration assigned tasks, accepted tasks, determined the scope and boundaries of the topics, recited scriptures, recorded combinations, and even extracted small sections from the scriptures, and so on, in order to protect the teachings of the Buddha and his retinue, as well as the Dharma protectors who delight in white and the deities of all directions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
