Furthermore, if 'commitment' refers to a view agreed upon by both debaters, it contradicts the scriptures. Because the 'reason' and 'subject' ( পক্ষধর্ম, pakṣadharma) as components of a syllogism, either their respective natures do not exist, or there is no desire to know, or there is doubt about the relationship between the 'basis' and the 'reason', these will lead to the answer of 'the reason is unestablished'. When the syllogism can be established, saying 'because it is that, therefore it should become that', this is actually refuting the other party's position, is a way of using the prasanga (應成式) to refute, not a means of establishing one's own view. For the refutation of 'indecision', if the other party answers with 'admission', then it should be said 'prasanga', and like that, take the other party's 'admission' as the 'reason', and then state the refutation. Whether there is pervasion depends on whether there is a real fault to be refuted. Whether the 'reason' is established depends on whether the argument can be established. Whether the argument can be established depends on whether the 'reason' can be established. Because the understanding of negation has not arisen, it will be explained for the 'nature of dharma', debated for the 'subject', and the desire to know only exists between the two 'subjects'. If you don't understand anything and start commenting at will, or use terms like 'you', etc., because you lack the skills of argumentation, don't you realize that you are weakening the rigor of the scriptures? If someone says that the 'reason', 'negation', and 'pervasion' are the 'three aspects', and no matter which of these three is answered, it will become the standard of victory because it contradicts the facts, then although this statement sounds harmonious, it does not exist in rational scriptures. If the 'reason' is admitted on the 'subject', and the 'pervasion' is established through valid cognition, and the 'pervasion' is admitted on the 'prasanga dharma', and the view of negation is established through valid cognition, then the meaning of the 'three aspects' being complete should be explained. If a wrong understanding or reversed cognition arises from that, or a valid cognition of the certainty of what is to be established arises, then this should be taken as the standard for judging victory or defeat. Some people admit that a vase is permanent, and also admit that a vase is impermanent, and even admit that a vase is neither permanent nor impermanent. In this case, the victory or defeat cannot be determined merely because a contradiction arises, because the fundamental vow has not been broken, the other party's courage has not been destroyed, and neither party's view has been established, nor has either party's view been invalidated. In addition, establishing a view and refuting a view, which of the two debaters should be responsible for this? In a debate, when should the 'reason', 'statement of proof', and 'what is to be established' be used? If someone asks these questions, then the current logicians, even if they are not able to answer all the questions, will raise their voices because of 'prasanga', and express their views with gesticulating sounds, and think this is good. This is just a waste of time and wisdom. Although doing this alone does not generate great sin, it generates heavy sin because it destroys the observing eye of all scriptures, and the good traditions of Dignāga (陈那) and Dharmakīrti (法称).

The head says: It is impossible to destroy the Dharma. After vowing to uphold the scriptures, For those reasons and arguments that destroy the scriptures, Those readers who take them seriously and indulge in them, Please be cautious again! In this poem called 'Words to Eliminate Misunderstandings about the Dharma,' the thirteenth chapter is: Eliminating Children's Misunderstandings about the Ways of Practice and Debate. Chapter Fourteen: Eliminating Erroneous Statements about the Rituals of the Three Bases of the Vinaya. Homage to the All-Knowing! Actions related to the Vinaya, Even if only symbolic, are beneficial. Now I will eliminate the misunderstandings that can be eliminated. 'Three Bases' refers to the Vinaya, The foundation of all the precepts. From the Summer Retreat to the Dissolution of the Retreat, etc., Vast and profound merits arise. Especially from the act of Dissolution of the Retreat, The Uposatha can be completed. Not only that, but it also eliminates all the faults that arise from the purification, And produces immeasurable merits. If the Dissolution of the Retreat is not completed properly, The Sangha will have the fault of concealment, And it will increase disputes caused by offenses, etc. Repentance that is not done properly, Will not be truly purified. All the merits that arise from purification, Will also not arise. Without a cause, there will be no result. Without the Summer Retreat, how can there be a Dissolution of the Retreat? In the later Land of Snows, Tibet, After the season of abundant rain has passed, If one vows to observe the Summer Retreat, The Dissolution of the Retreat will take place in the middle of winter. Regarding the saying 'mid-summer,' There may be errors in the cited sources, Regarding the time for finding and placing the robes, As well as the Descent from Heaven Day and the bathing time, etc., The differences in time are inconsistent, And it contradicts the great scholar Vasubandhu's Statement about the summer solstice. Those who cling to their own precepts as supreme, And belittle others, Always think that forty-five days, Is the fixed time for the Summer Retreat. The saying of the following summer, Will never be established. The forty-five days of, Summer Retreat is not what the Buddha said. Such a vow will not be established. If it is not established, then its, Ten benefits, how can they exist? Regarding the Uposatha on the new and full moon, There are very detailed time regulations. Even if it is one day earlier than the astrologer's date, All times are prescribed in this way. Therefore, the Uposatha on the new moon will not be established. The so-called 'fourteenth Uposatha,' Will not be established when the sky is empty. The saying 'held on the twenty-ninth'. Hearing these, one should cover one's ears.
