The esteemed Jiachen Essence Lineage Holder, Nyatri Tsenpo (Tibetan: གཉའ་ཁྲི་བཙན་པོ་, meaning 'Throne on the Neck'), was the earliest king of Tibet. Following him were the Seven Heavenly Thrones, the Six Earthly Leags, the Eight Log Generations, and so on in succession. In the time of the twenty-fifth king, Thothori Nyentsen (Tibetan: ཐོ་ཐོ་རི་སྙན་ཞལ་), the sacred Dharma was discovered. During the reign of Dharma King Songtsen Gampo (Tibetan: སྲོང་བཙན་སྒམ་པོ་), the Dharma began to flourish. In the time of Trisong Detsen (Tibetan: ཁྲི་སྲོང་ལྡེ་བཙན་), the Dharma was propagated and developed. During the reign of the sovereign Relpachen (Tibetan: རལ་པ་ཅན་), utmost respect was given to the ordained monks. The scriptures were translated, and standardized through new translation guidelines. For each ordained monk, seven households of subjects were offered. During the time of Lha Lama Yeshe O (Tibetan: ལྷ་བླ་མ་ཡེ་ཤེས་འོད་) and his nephew, the scriptures of the four classes of Secret Mantras were invited, and conditions were created for inviting Jowo Je (Tibetan: ཇོ་བོ་རྗེ་, meaning Lord Atisha) to Tibet. These great Dharma Kings appeared in succession like a golden chain. Secondly, regarding the origin of the populace, during the Fortunate Aeon, people were born from the realm of the gods, and thus there was no distinction of races. Later, during the Age of Strife, humanity divided into four races. Today, in India, the classes of the four castes are distinct. In China, the races are mixed. In small Tibet, there is no distinction of races. In greater Tibet, people are considered descendants of the Miu Dongdruk (Tibetan: མིའུ་གདོང་དྲུག་). Today, we speak of the illustrious lineage of the Yuan rulers, and their great accomplishments. Thirdly, regarding the formation of the land, there are many explanations, such as the outer exoteric and inner esoteric views. But here, we specifically mention the particularly excellent Jambudvipa, which is said to have thirty-six great countries and three hundred and sixty small countries. Among these, the most important are: China in the east, the source of wealth; India in the south, the source of sacred Dharma; Kashmir in the west, the source of knowledge; and Mongolia in the north, the source of warriors. In the center of these regions is the sacred land of the Dharma and Dharma holders—the snowy land of Tibet. Therefore, the great countries where civilization converges are these. Fourthly, regarding the worldly norms, in the Age of Perfection, people naturally enjoyed the ten virtues without relying on the laws of kings or the customs of elders. From the beginning of the Three Ages, the laws of the ten virtues were established, distinguishing between worldly good and evil, and the high and low of castes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope that the distinctions between noble and base, shame and conscience, and other worldly norms will be promoted and developed. In short, all of human history now converges on those patrons who are as virtuous as a father, as virtuous as a mother, who know shame and wear the clothes of conscience, and who enshrine the Three Jewels as the object of offering. 《The History of the Excellent Ornament of Dharma Origin》 The second part is about the history of the excellent ornament of Dharma origin, including: how the Buddha appeared, how the sacred Dharma flourished, and how those with deeds are deeply kind. First, regarding how our teacher initially generated the mind of enlightenment, although there are many scriptures that mention it, such as the 'Inconceivable Secret Sutra,' the 'Karunapadma Sutra,' and the 'Bhadrakalpa Sutra,' if we consider the ultimate meaning of the 'Brave Conduct Sutra,' our compassionate teacher had already become a Buddha countless eons ago. In this age of strife, he appears simultaneously in a hundred million billion miraculous deeds in a billion four continents as a supreme emanation. Regarding how the sacred Dharma flourished, after the teacher abided in the realm of Dharma, the Shravakas and Bodhisattvas with Dharma eyes successively compiled the Sutras of the Great and Small Vehicles. The Six Ornaments and the Two Supremes and other commentators skillfully distinguished between the provisional and definitive meanings, and wrote many commentaries, making the Buddha's teachings in the sacred land of India like the rising sun. In Tibet, the emanation Thonmi Sambhota (a minister of King Songtsen Gampo, who created the Tibetan script) created the Tibetan script and initiated the sacred Dharma tradition. The three translators Ka, Chok, and Zhang, who possessed Dharma eyes, translated the Tripitaka including commentaries. The saint Rinchen Zangpo (Ratnabhadra, a famous translator), blessed by Manjushri, translated the four tantras including authoritative commentaries. The great translator Lotsawa Lodan Zangpo (Blo ldan bzang po, Sagacious Wisdom), who was prophesied by the Buddha, revised many scriptures and promoted the teachings of explanation and transmission. The virtuous spiritual friends Thorok Bensum and Gya, Kyi, and Sha, and others, transmitted the Vinaya and Abhidharma of the Tripitaka from Ka, Chok, and Zhang, making the teachings stand like an unfailing victory banner. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
