Or, taking the black paint stirred by evil thoughts, dipping it with the crooked pen of discernment, blackening the face of the moon, and revealing it clearly to the world. Accepting the ultimate truth and entering the gate of view Second, the way to accept the ultimate truth and enter the palace of definitive meaning is as follows: How to practice when cutting off elaboration? How to accept when establishing terms with the words of the noble ones? First, it is divided into two parts: First, when cutting off the elaboration of clinging to reality, practice the corresponding ultimate truth by blocking one-sided elaboration; then, when cutting off the elaboration of non-reality, practice the ultimate true meaning by blocking all the boundaries of elaboration. Second, there are also two ways to establish terms: to make the reasoning that breaks the worldly discriminations dominate; to make the reasoning that breaks the yogi's discriminations dominate. The first case is to regard all the correct conventional truths mentioned above as wrong conventional truths, because they are not really existent, but appear due to the power of ignorance. What is not really existent? Because it cannot be found when examined with the wisdom of the noble ones, it only appears due to the power of ignorance. Therefore, the correct conventional truth other than this is not accepted here, but only this is established as the conventional truth, and it is called the worldly conventional truth. At this time, the ultimate truth refers to the sprout being empty of its own nature, and emptiness of self-nature, etc. These are accepted as existing in the terms of the noble ones, because they are established by the valid means recognized by the noble ones. The second case of reasoning is that all the ultimate truths mentioned above must be explained as conventional truths, because they are the objects of sound and discrimination. However, it is not considered a wrong conventional truth, because it is not established by the power of ignorance. Therefore, it is called the conventional truth of yogis, also called the correct conventional truth. As Sumati said: 'Without the ladder of correct conventional truths, wanting to ascend to the top of the correct palace is not suitable for the wise.' Candrakīrti also said: 'Is the ultimate truth also a conventional truth?' The answer is: 'That is so.' His words are also based on this principle. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

这名为‘入二谛要义之究竟甘露滴’(bden pa gnyis kyi gnad la 'jug pa nges don bdud rtsi'i thigs pa),是诞生于卫藏(dbus 'gyur tshal)地区,以智慧之眼善于运用中观宗义的嘉瓦友('jam dpal dga' ba'i bshes gnyen)在藏地叶茹(gtsang g.yas ru)所著。

Then, if the conventional truth (kun rdzob kyi bden pa) is like that, what is the ultimate truth (don dam pa'i bden pa)? The ultimate truth is that which is free from all expressions; it is merely a designation (tha snyad du bya ba). One should not express in words, 'The characteristic of the ultimate truth is this.' At that time, one has already happily reached the great mansion of definitive meaning (nges don gyi khang bzangs chen po). The path of ease for entering the great Madhyamaka mansion, the great door of the two truths (bden pa gnyis), is quickly opened. This, called 'The Drop of Nectar of Definitive Meaning Entering the Essential Points of the Two Truths' (bden pa gnyis kyi gnad la 'jug pa nges don bdud rtsi'i thigs pa), was composed by Jampal Gawa'i Shenyen ('jam dpal dga' ba'i bshes gnyen), who was born in the region of Utsang (dbus 'gyur tshal) and whose wisdom-eye skillfully employs the tenets of Madhyamaka, in Tsang Yeru (gtsang g.yas ru). May there be auspiciousness! Extensive Explanation of Two Verses from 'Entering Madhyamaka'. Svasti Prajābhyaḥ (梵文天城体:स्वस्ति प्रजाभ्यः,梵文罗马拟音:svasti prajābhyaḥ,吉祥众生) Like a Naga king dwelling in the ocean of Madhyamaka, like a siddha (siddha) suppressing opposing factions, skilled at abandoning views of permanence and annihilation, I prostrate to the author of the treatise. Having offered praise in this way, I will explain the meaning of the two verses from 'Entering Madhyamaka'. What are the two? They are that all phenomena from form (gzugs) up to omniscient wisdom (rnam pa thams cad mkhyen pa nyid) exist conventionally and do not exist ultimately. The explanation of this includes: establishing one's own view, refuting the views of others, and dispelling disputes about it. First, among these two, one seeks which is the tenet of Madhyamaka, and upon finding it, how one is skilled at abandoning views of permanence and annihilation. First, it is like this: 'Existing conventionally' is not one's own tenet, because merely existing does not establish existence. The reason for this is that 'convention' refers to the conceptual thought that grasps at characteristics (mtshan mar 'dzin pa'i rtog pa), and the speech that arises from it. If it exists merely in convention, then it must not be said to exist according to the Madhyamaka's own tenet, just like the self and phenomena grasped by co-emergent ignorance (lhan cig skyes pa'i ma rig pa). If, other than that, one accepts that worldly conventional truths ('jig rten gyi kun rdzob bden pa) exist in one's own tenet, then one must accept worldly perception (mthong ba tshad ma) as valid cognition, and worldly conventional truths (tha snyad bden pa) must be established by valid cognition based on Madhyamaka reasoning (rigs pa). Therefore, whatever is accepted as conventional truth by the Madhyamikas is necessarily not an existence accepted by the Madhyamaka's own tenet, like the world. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
