Upon a jeweled lotus in layered array, Upon a full moon seat that dispels all suffering, Seated in vajra posture, subduing the four maras, A body enjoying the complete fruition of limitless results. Thus praises were offered to the principal and retinue, and so forth. Then, the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, The one with bhaga), Red Yamari (Yamari, Lord of Death, here referring to the deity), whose practice had been previously undertaken, had his right foot reaching the Rope Mountain, and his left foot pressing down on the Thorn Hill. His right hand held a wheel, and his left hand made a threatening gesture (tarjani mudra) at his heart. His hair filled the expanse of the sky, and one saw his face. Then, his uncle said, 'Come.' And so he went. 'You have seen the face of the Great Compassionate One (Mahakarunika, Avalokiteshvara) and Yamari, so now there is no need to listen to the people of Kham. It is more important to practice than to hear teachings. Now, in Latö (Latö, a region in Tibet), there is a mountain called Tsari (Tsari, a sacred mountain), which is good for practice. It is said that there is an accomplished one there who is skilled in the instructions of Lama Rechenpa (Lama Rechenpa, a Kagyu master). Go there.' So he gave him six bolts of silk and one sho of gold, and he went to Tsang. At noon, he arrived at a pass and rested. The sun was warm, but suddenly a strong hailstorm came down. He thought, 'The sun is warm, but suddenly a strong hailstorm comes down, this is strange.' Then he realized, 'All of this is in my own mind, and its nature is unborn Dharmakaya (Dharmakaya, the body of the Dharma).’ So he immediately realized that the nature of his own mind is unborn. Later, he never had a realization that was greater than this. Then he went to Latö, and arrived at a stream near the mountain where the lama lived. He met someone who was drawing water, and he prostrated to me. I asked him, 'Who do you think I am that you are prostrating to me?' He said, 'This morning the lama said, "Today an accomplished one from Ü-Tsang (Ü-Tsang, central Tibet) will come to see me, so watch out for him." It seems that it is you. I am not meeting with anyone else. Please go in.' So he went up a rocky path, offered a khata (khata, a silk scarf) to the lama, and because I had no provisions, I asked the lama to quickly complete the instructions of Lama Rechenpa. The lama smiled and said, 'When your gold and six bolts of silk are used up, I will have finished the teachings.' I never lied to the lama. So he sold the gold and silk, and requested the empowerments of Cakrasamvara Thirteen Deity Mandala and Vajravarahi Thirteen Deity Mandala, etc., and in two years the lama completed all the instructions. Then he heard that in U-yuk (U-yuk, a place name) there was a great master named Lama Spenphukpa (Lama Spenphukpa, a personal name), who was the holder of the secret mantra lineage of Atisha (Atisha, an Indian Buddhist scholar), so he went to see Lama Spenphukpa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I received many empowerments, including Cakrasamvara (Tibetan: Bde mchog, English: Supreme Bliss). For five years, I received all the teachings of Jowo (Tibetan: Jo bo, referring to Atisha), and was granted Jowo's kapala drum (Tibetan: ḍa ma ru) and three samaya objects (Tibetan: thugs dam gsum). After that, I heard that there was a great accomplished one in Shang Lha Powa (Tibetan: Shangs lha phu ba) named Lama Mogchokpa (Tibetan: Bla ma rmog cog pa), who was proficient in illusory body and dream, and had realized clear light (Tibetan: od gsal). I went to see that lama, and on the way, a rich man gave me a secret undergarment. That night I slept wearing it, and a black man wearing a black cotton coat appeared, saying, 'Tomorrow go and find Lala Zambo (Tibetan: la la zla bo), so that enemies will not come. I will listen to your orders like your servant, do not give my head to anyone.' After saying that, he disappeared. The next day, many Lala Zambo (Tibetan: la la zla bo) came. I went to see Lama Krulung Su (Tibetan: skru lung su), and the lama said, 'Didn't a black man come last night?' I said, 'Yes.' The lama said, 'That is Gonpo (Tibetan: mgon po, protector), he will listen to your orders like your servant.' Then, the lama bestowed upon me the weapon empowerment (Tibetan: mtshon cha can gyi dbang bskur), and completed the preliminary and path of means instructions. The lama said, 'The Six Dharmas of Wisdom Dakini Niguma (Tibetan: ni gu ma, Sanskrit: Niguma) are a single lineage, so I must give you all of them. There is a common empowerment and a separate empowerment here, so some things must be done unnoticed.' First, he bestowed upon me the empowerment of the path of means, and just through the instruction of Fierce Fire (Tibetan: me rgod gtum mo), after seven days I was able to control it. Then he said, 'Now the common empowerment must be done.' At midnight, during the empowerment, I saw the faces of Cakrasamvara (Tibetan: Bde mchog, English: Supreme Bliss) and Dakini Niguma (Tibetan: mkha' 'gro ma ni gu ma). The next night, he bestowed upon me the illusory body empowerment and gave instructions, and I had a very good illusory body experience, and all the clinging to the reality of appearances disappeared. Eleven months later, he bestowed upon me the dream empowerment, and I was able to control the dream, and at the same time I gained the ability to control and purify. The lama said, 'For those with the best faculties, control and purification will happen simultaneously.' He praised me greatly. After that, I gained great dream power. The lama said, 'My attendant went to the market to sell tea, but has not returned yet. Has he encountered enemies? Look at a dream tonight.' So I prayed until midnight. At dawn, I dreamed that he was lying in a place one day away from the market, with his head resting on a broken tea canister. There was also something wrapped in reeds inside the tea canister. The next morning, I went before the lama, and the attendant...
