After inquiring about the details, he set off until noon, arriving at a town called Kālacakrī (Wheel of Time). Initially, some Kashmiri children came and pointed at him, saying, 'Look, this person has no beard and his body is yellow.' They made many mocking gestures. Then, he borrowed accommodation from an old man and stayed for a few days. One day, he went to the center of the village to beg for alms and met an old Brahmin. He showed him the manuscript, but the Brahmin didn't say a word and went home. After a while, he came with a silver bowl filled with flowers and offered it to him, prostrating. When he didn't accept it, the Brahmin grabbed his sleeve and offered it, saying, 'You are someone who has accumulated merit life after life, and in this life you have learned a lot of Dharma and benefited sentient beings greatly. Please accept these flowers and the bowl that I offer!' He took it and made a dedication in Tibetan. Because the others had never heard Tibetan before, they laughed and made fun of him. The Brahmin was very pleased and went home. After that, he went a little east from the town of Kālacakrī and arrived at the center of the city called Kali, entering the monastery called Loka Kīrti Mahāvihāra. There, he met Paṇḍita Guṇa Mitra, who was well-versed in the five sciences and taught the Dharma to about five hundred young monks. He offered the silver bowl filled with flowers that the Brahmin had given him as a gift, prostrated, and prayed, learning translation for seventeen months, becoming proficient in grammar and logic. He received full ordination from Khenpo Dharmā Śānti of Kashmir. Then, he made an offering of one gold coin to his previous teacher, and used half a gold coin to prepare subsequent offerings and necessities. After that, he offered six gold coins to the great scholars Sona Ragadzi of Spru, Sangkawa of Alu, Sangkawa of Shora, Mithiba of Shora, Apara of Najui, and Sangara of Lakai, and listened to much Dharma. After that, he explained how to translate the Dharma: From that town, he traveled east for six days to the city called Tāmālasintāta, and heard that there was a very famous Paṇḍita there, who was well-versed in the five sciences. So, he bid farewell to his previous teachers, After leaving, he met a yogi as fast as the shadow of an eagle swooping down, and realizing that he had the auspicious connection of swiftness, he requested him... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I relinquished long-held self-grasping, like an incapable traveler. I exhausted all my possessions on offerings, to the point of depleting even a beggar's rations, leaving me with nothing. Therefore, I implore the Great Compassionate One to have mercy and grant me the Siddhi of Swift Feet. He replied, 'You are a person from afar. The Swift Feet practice I impart is a Dharma of the Dakinis. It cannot be given without blessings and a Ganachakra.' So I followed a yogi to a city called Bindiri to gather the requisites for a Ganachakra. When the requisites were complete, I requested again, and he agreed to impart it, bestowing blessings and performing the Ganachakra. I wrapped a cloth around the translator's neck, offered my body, speech, and mind to the Guru, and studied the Dharma called 'Swift Feet Wish-Fulfilling Jewel.' To repay the kindness, I intended to offer the remaining wealth from my previous Dharma studies, but I hesitated, thinking it contradicted the Guru's words, so I did not offer it. In a dream, I saw: 'To dispel obstacles to Dharma practice, I offered a golden Mandala to the Great Panchen.' A Dakini blessed by Avalokiteshvara received the prophecy of the Golden Armor. The Dakini gave me one Tola of gold, which I offered. Then, I went to the city of Damalasinta and met Shradhakaravarma. I received the prophecy to practice Vajrapani. On the mountain of burning iron, there were three levels of steps. He gave me the 'Vajra' that reveals everything, and a rosary of eighty-one beads of 'Great Auspiciousness,' and said, 'Become the master of mantra!' He said that if you pray, your wishes will be fulfilled. I also requested him to teach the Dharma of Mind Emanation, and he agreed. For two years, I listened to the methods of practicing the Yoga Tantras and many instructions, and offered all the remaining gold. Afterward, I wanted to return home. In a dream, I saw: A Tibetan brought many jewels from an island in the ocean, and one wish-fulfilling jewel entered his body. This wish-fulfilling jewel belongs to the venerable Naropa. Upon awakening, I told the story to Guru Shradhakara, and the Guru said, 'If that is so, you must go to the venerable Naropa. He is proficient in the 'Mahamudra,' which achieves enlightenment in one lifetime and one body, and possesses many excellent accomplishments and instructions.' The compassionate Guru gave me three portions of food. I followed his instructions, kept the dream in mind, and proceeded north to the city of Great Auspicious Flower Garland, and soon met the venerable Guru. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
