If the tea and wine offerings and subsequent offerings are not sufficient, then one cannot be considered a monk. (In a Potala manuscript, it is written that if the tea and wine offerings and subsequent offerings are not sufficient, then one is considered a beggar. It means leaving a servant. Or, it needs to be examined whether it means not establishing a monk for learning.) When practicing, one should offer wealth, and the necessary matters, large and small, should each be done according to one's own faith and effort. For the Geshes who are the authority of the Dharma, the support of wishes and accomplishments, those who continuously serve them should at least offer their own property. If one offers only occasionally, then offer half of one's property, and if one offers suddenly, then offer double. If one does not do so and destroys the authority of the Dharma, then the disciple will also be unable to bear the Dharma due to lack of faith, so a rule should be made to place them in a bad situation. If the teacher, fearing the loss of disciples, allows the authority of the Dharma to decline, then a rule should be made to remove the teacher from the Vajra rank and place them in the position of a teacher of evil ones. The fourth branch, when guarding the excellent Dharma with utmost care, even if oppressed by noise, it is acceptable. Even if there is no wealth or food, one can think: I have nothing to guard. One can also think in this way, in order for everyone to respect the excellent Dharma, relying on any wisdom deity, with the method of guarding the teachings, considering each instruction as a deity, and in the prayer, also pray: By the power of my effort (in the Potala manuscript it is written: By the power of the work entrusted to me), may the Mahayana flourish in the world and remain for a long time, and may all sentient beings abide in the gate of liberation. Thus, make the prayer. Thus, in order to uphold the excellent Dharma, four branches of rules are established. After that, in order not to abandon the Bodhicitta, one must carefully guard the vows taken, and also constantly read the words of the vows, and also rely on view and meditation, and make a rule to practice the Dharma that abides in one's own mind. After that, for the Mahayana, it is extremely inferior, it will cause one to be separated from the Bodhicitta, to turn away from saving sentient beings, to become the root of downfall, stinginess and harmful intent.

In order to gradually reverse the habit of stinginess and to remove its seed, the following rules are established: Regarding stinginess, giving to one's own lama, one's own object of veneration, relatives, friends, and fellow countrymen, etc., those whom one is attached to, although it is helpful in abandoning stinginess, it does not become a powerful antidote to stinginess itself. Because one has not separated from attachment, and lacks the mind of complete protection. Therefore, in order to rely on the antidote to stinginess itself, one should not constantly rely on food and wealth to which one is very attached. Furthermore, from our own necessities of life, even if it is only one percent, give to those who are not attached. For example, those who are not attached through the connection of Dharma and worldly affairs, and those who do not seek specifically and are not attached, such as the guests of the four directions, the monastic community, the two groups of monks and tantric practitioners, and those who go to care for the sick (one manuscript reads "those who do not go to care for the sick"), and ordinary hungry people, in order to protect them, first make a vow oneself, and then personally transport it on foot, or through urging others, make a vow to do it every year. For those who come to me seeking (the Dzogchen version says "leave"), because it is uncontrollable, one should give from other items. Furthermore, those who have wealth and have faith (the Potala manuscript says "Furthermore, those who have wealth and many riches"), in order to help others digest wealth, remove the seed of stinginess, and increase the seed of protection, even those who obtain one liang of silver should take out one bre of grain, and those who are more wealthy should take out one zho of food. In this way, according to the proportion, act as a non-attached help. This is because it is separated from attachment, so it has a pure intention, a vast intention, a pure field of merit, a vast field of merit (the manuscript says "vast field of merit"), a long time and thought, and the thought of protection. Therefore, whatever is accomplished in this way will become an antidote to stinginess and increase the seed of protection. Therefore, this rule was established. After that, in order to abandon actions that harm sentient beings and to generate loving-kindness, the following rules were established.
