Self-nature should be refuted. Although both of these appearances are the appearances of the mind's aspects, they are the same. However, appearing as suffering and the place of suffering is mistaken because it is an impure appearance. Appearing as liberation and the place of liberation is not mistaken because it is pure. Whatever is mistaken is impure, and whatever is impure is mistaken. This is the same pervasion. Similarly, purity and non-mistakenness should also be examined. Therefore, with this very reason of certain pervasion, appearing as ordinary is a mistaken appearance. It is a mistaken appearance. A deity is a non-mistaken appearance. It is a non-mistaken appearance. It should be understood with certainty. Regarding this, the statement "the aspects are also not different" should also be explained a little. Some people think that if one meditates on imputed things like vases and pillars as deities, they may appear as deities endowed with body, speech, and mind, but that is not the nature of pillars and so on. It is like meditating on ugliness, where the place is filled with bones and so on. Similarly, the appearance of meditating on the sphere of exhaustion and so on is also a powerful form, a distinction of the form of the sphere of phenomena, and not the nature of things. That's what they say. Some argue that when appearing as a deity, one's own appearance changes, so it is not the nature of appearing the same. To this objection, what is being shown is: the aspects are also not different, because they appear the same. Just as for a hungry ghost, appearing as pus is also its own appearance due to shared karma, and appearing as water is also its own appearance due to shared karma, so it is not permissible to say that the basis is different, because appearing the same as moisture, neither of them has changed. Therefore, it is permissible to make a river the subject. If that is correct, then the appearance as pus itself is also the appearance of each, so for the subject, neither the proponent nor the opponent will find anything established. Similarly, in the common appearance, the impure appearance of the aspects of body, speech, and mind, and the pure appearance of the vajra body, speech, and mind of the deity, both appear the same without changing in the realm and field of experience with the three aspects of body, speech, and mind. Therefore, it is permissible to establish appearance as the subject in this way. If

Because it is each individual's appearance, everything is different. If common appearances are blocked, then pillars, etc., are each individual's appearance, so as the subject of the thesis, no established view can be found for either the proponent or the opponent. Therefore, establishing appearances as deities does not have the fault of differing subjects. Furthermore, someone asks: Are completely pure deities not distinguished and established by Dharmata and wisdom? How can they appear as aspects of the mind? Answer: Completely pure deities are also established in two ways. Just as the reflection in a mirror is a quality of the mirror, so it is established in the mirror; because it is a reflection of a face, it is established as the form of a face. Similarly, the appearance of the deity as body, speech, and mind is also because of the power of realizing the Dharmata of wisdom, and the force of accomplishing aspirations through compassion, so it is distinguished and established by wisdom and Dharmata. Thus it is established, and those appearances as deities are also appearances of the mind with karmic imprints, so they are included within the nature of mind. How do they appear by the cause of karmic imprints? Answer: For the karmic imprints of the two graspings, they will appear as objects and subjects. For the karmic imprints of white deeds, they will appear as adorned with signs and examples, and as special characteristics. Furthermore, for the karmic imprints of self-grasping, they will appear as the self and the lineage of deities as separate, and will appear as cut off from external objects. For the karmic imprints of expression, they will appear as different names. From the karmic imprints of the limb of existence, they will appear as the nature of birth. When all karmic imprints are completely exhausted, the realm of completely pure activity will also not appear. The purity of the Buddhas and the wisdom of worldly beings, similarly, whether they exist or not is to be examined, it is an inconceivable Dharma. Furthermore, someone asks: When the completely pure deity is established as the nature of the place, what is it that is distinguished and established by wisdom and Dharmata? Is it not present in the nature of ordinary people's minds that appear as delusion? Answer: It is not so, because the consciousness of ordinary beings also has the characteristic of being naturally pure, and wisdom does not only depend on generating Bodhicitta, but is self-arisen wisdom.
