If you want to recite the teachings of the departed, in an instant, from the empty tongue, Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) arises. From that, visualize a five-pronged vajra. From your own seed syllable, imagine the sound of recitation coming from the holes of the vajra. Also, imagine your own body transforming into many, pervading the three thousand worlds and many other realms. In each of those mouths, imagine many vajra tongues, and by reciting, imagine that all sentient beings hear it and are liberated from samsara. This is said to be the yoga of conduct between sessions. Jomo asked the master: How is the generation stage expanded with the perfection stage? The master said: The yogi who wishes to meditate on the perfection stage, having meditated on themselves as the deity's body, when ending a session, invites the wisdom being to depart. The samaya being dissolves into light and becomes the seed syllable of that yidam deity, or Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽). The Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) gradually becomes a bindu. That bindu also gradually becomes subtle and abides in emptiness. In that state, the suchness of all dharmas, empty and clear, non-conceptual, should abide in a state free from the extremes of existence and non-existence. Or, as you have received the secret instructions of the perfection stage from the lama, repeatedly clarify it. If you practice in this way, taking it to heart in three or four sessions, then without interruption in this life or another, abandoning the intermediate state, you will rest in great yoga, and the body of the yidam deity will become the great mudra. Even if you have not mastered the skill of the generation stage, you will rest in great yoga in the next life, and you will become a vidyadhara of the great mudra. These are for individuals of dull faculties, the lowest, and are instructions on the gradual path of meditation. Jomo asked the master: How should an individual of sharp faculties meditate? The master said: An individual of sharp faculties meditating on the deity does not generate it gradually, but merely through the essence or expression of words, like a bubble bursting, it naturally appears in an instant. Inviting from the deity's realm is also the same. The clarity of oneself as the deity is the dharmadhatu; the appearance of the deity without inherent existence is wisdom; the inseparability of dharmadhatu and wisdom means that it appears as the deity without ceasing in conventional truth. The nature of the deity without inherent existence is emptiness.

It is the supreme oath. Thus, conventional truth and ultimate truth are inseparable. The appearance like a father is method, the appearance like a mother is wisdom, method and wisdom are inseparable. Appearing as a deity is bliss, the deity having no self-nature is emptiness, bliss and emptiness are inseparable. The deity appearing as awareness, the deity's appearance having no self-nature is emptiness, awareness and emptiness are inseparable. The deity appearing as clarity, the deity having no self-nature is emptiness, clarity and emptiness are inseparable. Thereupon, the clarity of the deity, is the appearance of the body without self-nature, therefore there is no aging; speech is unimpeded, therefore the essence is uninterrupted; mind has no birth or death, therefore the dharma nature is continuous. Walking, standing, lying down, sitting, in the four activities, being clear without separating from this, is the path of the superior faculties, it is said. This is very rare, it is the practice of those with karmic connections from past training, it is said. Jomo asked the master: When meditating on the yidam deity, how to first hold the deity in the mind? The master said: The oral instruction for first making the deity clear, it is fine to practice in front, after receiving the guru's oral instruction, the guru blesses the disciple and provides protection, then sit comfortably on a cushion, balance the elements, arrange the thangka of the yidam deity well in front, and remain without thinking of anything for a while. Then look at the image, from head to toe, from toe to head in order, then look at the whole body, and occasionally rest by placing it in non-conceptualization. Repeat this again and again, looking as if for a day, sleep well that night, and when dawn breaks, look again as before, and at night do not meditate on the deity but place the mind in non-conceptualization. Then, without meditating, the deity appears clearly in the mind, if it does not appear, then look at the image, close your eyes, and make that image appear clearly in front, and stay without letting the mind stray from its previous state. If it is not clear, then look at the image and make it clear, cut off the flow of conceptual thoughts and stay. For those who meditate in this way, there are five experiences: the experience of wavering, the experience of attainment, the experience of habituation, the experience of stability, and the experience of completion. At that time, the mind does not want to stay, and the activities of conceptualization arise a lot, this is the experience of wavering. This is a near sign that the mind will be grasped.
