Nāme should be written. Root. Secondly, regarding the meaning of the text, there are three: ground, path, and fruition. First, regarding the ground, there are two: the nature of reality and the nature of delusion. First, what is grasped by the face of the nature of reality is: Two-ness absent, spontaneously present, primordially pure, Buddha from the beginning. Therefore, there are four here: First, the nature of reality that abides in two-ness absent. Among these, there are five: Appearing as anything, yet without certainty in any place, therefore the essence is appearance-emptiness non-dual; the nature of mind is unborn from the beginning, and the very unbornness is unceasing in any appearance, therefore the characteristic is birth-cessation non-dual; all appearances are one's own mind, and there is no other dharma apart from mind, therefore appearance is self-appearance non-dual; that mind of self-appearance non-dual is not newly arisen from non-existence, but has existed from the beginning, therefore the way of abiding is self-other non-dual; thus, there is no other dharma that is not two-ness absent, therefore it is the great two-ness absent. In short, from the emptiness of dharmatā, all dharmas of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, which are dharmas with characteristics, appear unceasingly, therefore, it is two-ness absent, liberated from extremes. Thus, the necessity of introducing two-ness absent is: by eliminating others, liberating from the clinging of holding two dharmas as different; the meaning is to realize two-ness absent; the essence is that all dharmas that are the collection of two-ness abide in the single bindu of two-ness absent. Second, regarding the nature of reality that abides in spontaneous presence, there are also five: the nature of all dharmas is not established in any appearance, this is dharmatā spontaneous presence; the power of all dharmas is unceasing in any appearance, this is dharma with characteristics spontaneous presence; the essence of all dharmas is not conceptualized in any appearance, this is two-ness absent spontaneous presence; this is not done by others, but is accomplished in this way from the beginning, this is self-nature spontaneous presence; among all the dharmas of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, there is no other dharma that is not spontaneously present, therefore it is the great spontaneous presence. In short, in the emptiness of dharmatā, all dharmas of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, which are dharmas with characteristics, are accomplished as capable of arising, and do not abide as inherently existent, therefore spontaneous presence is free from extremes. Thus, by introducing spontaneous presence, one can liberate from the clinging of striving from elsewhere by eliminating others. The meaning is that without searching and practicing, the essence of realization is that all dharmas of existence, saṃsāra, and nirvāṇa are spontaneously present in one's own mind. Third, regarding the nature of reality that abides in the ground of primordial purity, there are also five: in the emptiness of self-nature, the dharma of substance is pure from the beginning, this is the purity of the sphere; the power of emptiness is unceasing.

Now, in self-appearance, the truth of self-continuity, pure from the beginning, is pristine wisdom. The essence is the inseparability of appearance and emptiness, and the purity of different phenomena from the beginning is non-dual purity. This is not something suddenly made, but something that has been there from the beginning, which is self-nature purity. The absence of any other phenomena that are not primordially pure is great purity. In short, on the emptiness of dharmata, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana appear without being abandoned, and because of self-nature purity, it is purity free from extremes. Thus, by introducing primordial purity, the attachment of others who believe that confusion is self-continuity is liberated, the pursuit is realized as complete purity, and the essence of dharmata is naturally pure. Fourth, the state of abiding as a Buddha from the beginning is self-awareness, the mind of enlightenment. When dualistic confusion subsides and non-dual wisdom increases, it is Buddhahood. However, it is not that one eliminates an existing confusion and becomes a Buddha, or that one increases a non-existent non-duality, but that confusion is not established in the essence, and the essence increases as non-dual wisdom, so it is Buddhahood from the beginning. The emptiness of self-nature is the dharmakaya, the clarity of self-radiance is the sambhogakaya, the inseparability of clarity and emptiness is the nirmanakaya. How is the emptiness of self-nature? How much is the clarity of self-radiance? The inseparability or non-difference of clarity and emptiness is the wisdom of knowledge. Because there is no confusion in the essence, the qualities of abandonment are perfect. Because the essence exists in non-duality, the qualities of realization are perfect. If one is not a Buddha from the beginning, one will not become a Buddha even if one meditates. Just as gravel is not gold from the beginning, it will not become gold even if one makes it so. Thus, by showing Buddhahood from the beginning, the attachment of others who believe that confusion is established on the ground is liberated, the pursuit is realized as Buddhahood from the beginning, and the essence is realized as self-awareness, kaya, and wisdom. Second, the way of confusion is: "From the essence, ignorance arises, leading to afflictions, wrongdoings, and suffering." Thus it is said. There are five aspects to this. First, the basis of confusion is the essence of mind, the tathagatagarbha, which is free from the extremes of existence and non-existence. Because one does not recognize one's own face, one becomes confused by clinging to existence and non-existence, similarity and dissimilarity. Second, the cause is ignorance. There are two types of ignorance. First, the co-emergent is the non-recognition of awareness. By whom is it not recognized? By oneself. What is not recognized? Oneself. From the absence of anyone who shows the reason, like a form in a dark room, like scattered objects in a catalog, one does not recognize.
