That which does not fall within the scope of discursive thoughts, which is not produced by any cause, which is not destroyed by any condition, the very essence of the naturally pure mind, being empty, since it is not formed into color and shape, it does not fall into the extremes of existence and non-existence, being free from the three stages of arising, abiding, and ceasing, like the center of limitless space, with the naked awareness of the nature of awareness, knowing that all the various appearances of the six aggregates are the magical displays of the mind, just like meeting someone one has known before, decisively cutting through all appearances, existence, samsara, and nirvana as one's own mind, the Dharmakaya, and since there is no one wandering in samsara, one generates the certainty and compassion of thinking, "How pitiful are those sentient beings who have not realized this!" Seeing the lama as the Buddha, cutting through the khenpo, is called seeing the naked awareness as the Dharmakaya, and although there is no meditation on that, one maintains it without distraction. Fourth, introducing the vipashyana of the self-liberation of non-duality: According to the high and low faculties of beings, one learns the introduction of scripture and realization from the lama's mouth. For those with superior faculties, realization and liberation occur simultaneously in an instant, knowing appearances and mind to be non-dual, becoming skilled in the conventional truth, and decisively cutting through samsara and nirvana as non-dual in experience. For those with middling faculties, not leaving behind the objects of grasping externally, not clinging to awareness internally, practicing in the non-duality of objects and awareness, appearances and emptiness are naturally liberated in their own place, the nature of emptiness appearing, the nature of appearances being empty, thus, with the meaning of non-duality, one decisively cuts through all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana as being of one taste. For those with inferior faculties, becoming skilled in the conventional truth, although sudden delusions and thoughts are cut off, due to the habitual tendencies of past clinging, sometimes a subtle thought that one does not intentionally perceive arises, and a thought arises that grasps appearances and mind as two, for those who have not cut through doubt, on the basis of the spontaneously arising non-dual accomplishment, introducing the subsequent awareness, first, does the appearance that arises from outside exist? Does the awareness that distinguishes between the two exist inside? When one looks to see if the place where the two reside, the place where they go, the place where they arise, the things and characteristics exist, since it does not go beyond non-duality, therefore the place where they arise, the place where they reside, the place where they go, the things, characteristics, and the one who distinguishes do not exist, appearances are the way the rays of light of the mind appear.

La, It is as if appearances have not ceased. Even so, at the time of appearing in various ways, there is no substance, but it abides in emptiness of its own nature. Even in emptiness, thoughts and concepts do not cease, but appear in various ways. Therefore, appearance and emptiness are inseparable, like water and waves, the sun and rays, sandalwood and fragrance, being of one essence without distinction. Realizing this as baseless and rootless, the bondage of grasping and clinging is naturally liberated. No matter how external appearances arise, they are known to be without inherent existence, transparent like the moon in water. The various movements are empty in their very essence. The essence of existence and non-existence transcends the mind, and the empty awareness, without arising or ceasing, is recognized as the Dharmakaya, free from extremes. To explain this further, it is like extinguishing a fire in a stove, causing the smoke in the vast space to cease. By thoroughly understanding that the nature of mind is unborn, the appearances of mental events and movements are not abandoned but are liberated in their own place. No matter what arises, form appearances are empty, sound vibrations are empty, smell sensations are empty, taste experiences are empty, touch sensations are empty, all simultaneously. Thus, everything arises from the mind. By realizing the mind as the Dharmakaya, it is like waves arising in water, yet never for a moment departing from the water. Similarly, no matter how appearances manifest, they never for a moment depart from the Dharmakaya of the mind, and the appearances themselves do not separate. The way appearances arise in the mind without ceasing is like the sky, which does not move, yet various rainbow images appear without departing from the sky. The place of arising, the place of abiding, and the place of dissolving all arise from the sky, and the sky does not move for a moment. Similarly, the Dharmakaya of the mind does not move, yet the way appearances manifest is uncertain, and samsara and nirvana appear in various ways. Even if billions of appearances arise, they arise from the mind, abide in the mind, and ultimately dissolve into the mind. The essence of the mind does not move for a moment. No matter what appears in the mind, appearances are without inherent existence, like the moon in water. Arising and liberation are simultaneous, like drawing a line on water. All that appears is nothing other than the mind, like gold, no matter what form it is made into, it does not depart from the gold itself. No matter how thoughts arise, they are pacified in the mind itself, like snow falling into the ocean. No matter how many thoughts arise, they are not stained by even a speck of dust, like crystal and a mirror. Thought empty
