Complete realization is the gateway to the unsurpassed state for those with fortunate karma. As it is said in the Tantra of the Garland of Lights: From intention, symbols, and oral transmission, the measure of the meaning of secret mantras arises. Relying on metaphors, one recognizes the truth of the meaning; relying on signs, faith is transformed. By thoroughly understanding the essence of the meaning, the three wisdoms are accomplished on the basis. That which exists in the form of a seed, through the wisdom arising from conditions, matures in the form of a fruit, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, and the obscurations of knowledge are naturally purified. Without searching, the fruit is naturally seen. Thus it is said. Secondly, maturing through the gateway of empowerment includes the empowerment itself and the explanation of the vows. Firstly: In the Compendium Tantra, it says: Empowerment, in four ways, matures those with fortune. With elaboration, without elaboration, extremely without elaboration, and likewise, completely without elaboration. In the manner of four distinctions, it matures the self-continuum of the faithful. Thus it is said. Then, the empowerment of the power of awareness is bestowed. Thus it is said. Therefore, for the essence of the Sugata of sentient beings, to accomplish the Dharma of perfect enlightenment, the Form Body and Wisdom, in the causal vehicle, one must accomplish it with great effort through slow and laborious methods such as asceticism. Here, without relying on time and asceticism, it can be accomplished through quick and easy methods. Moreover, the three doors of ripening samsara, the four realms of wisdom, the four vajra natures abiding therein, through the act of empowerment, one accomplishes the nature of the four bodies. Therefore, in order to attain the fruit of perfect enlightenment in this life and so on. That is, the disciple's body, etc., as the four ripening realms of the cause, are empowered and blessed as the four vajras of the fruit, thereby awakening the qualities of the innate four realms. Without abandoning the similar nature of the cause, the four vajras of the Buddha are manifested, just as the cause of the fruit is expanded and becomes the fruit, and the cause itself does not abandon the nature of the cause, thereby awakening the fruit. Therefore, it is called maturation. In particular, here, the empowerment of the Great Perfection, self-awareness, free from elaboration, in the mandala of the primordially pure Dharmata Bodhicitta, which is the manifestation of existence.

Therefore, if one recognizes its meaning as nakedly apparent and naturally liberated, it is called the power of wisdom. Furthermore, the Vajra Master, abiding in the position of the mandala's lord, introduces disciples into common and uncommon mandalas in accordance with their capacity, abilities, and entry into the path. By transmitting the lineage of the path and fruition to them, to make the seed of enlightenment manifest or ripen into a state capable of growing, this is known as the maturing empowerment or the causal empowerment. After obtaining this empowerment, the empowerment given to increase the qualities represented by the grounds and paths is considered the path empowerment or the means of liberation. Second, the explanation of vows, as stated in the Root Tantra: "The vow of firm empowerment, although the differences cannot be exhausted, briefly protect body, speech, and mind." Therefore, not transgressing the meaning of what is to be protected, having a mind of restraint together with its seed, if distinguished, there are countless vows of root and branch. In particular, it is not acting in a way that transgresses the vows of body, speech, and mind. In short, for those who have not determined the number and object of what is to be protected, completely protecting, without bondage or restraint, this is the most excellent of vows. As it is said: "Originally there is no protection, great freedom, there is no gradual arrangement of protection. Because it transcends all protection, it is said to be the peak of all vows." Third, practicing through the approach of pith instructions, there are three: the superior diligent one attains enlightenment in this life, the intermediate diligent one attains enlightenment in the bardo, and the inferior diligent one attains enlightenment in the realm of the Svabhavakaya. Among these, the first is further divided into: the preliminary instructions for making oneself a suitable vessel for practicing the profound path, and the actual instructions for entering into the practice of the profound path itself. The first is further divided into: taming one's mind-stream with the common preliminaries, and ascertaining reality with the uncommon preliminaries. The first is further divided into: generally explaining the commitments of the common preliminaries, and specifically explaining the stages of visualization and methods of meditation. The first is, as stated in the Past and Future Tantra: "Cultivate impermanence, compassion, and bodhicitta." Also, as stated in the tantra: "With impermanence, compassion, and bodhicitta, enter the Dharma, and go on the Mahayana path." Therefore, meditating on impermanence, compassion, and bodhicitta, these three are directly shown.
