In short, it is permissible to elaborate or abbreviate as you wish, and even if it is not completed, there is no fault of interruption. Next is to enter into recitation: The white A syllable mantra in the heart, etc. The meaning of the words is that in the heart of the Guru Shakyamuni Buddha, on the lunar disc, the seed syllable A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is surrounded by a Muni mantra garland, from which light radiates upwards, gathering the blessings and power of all refuge places, and dissolving into the practitioner himself. Again, the light radiates downwards, pervading the places of the six realms, purifying the sins, obscurations, and sufferings of all sentient beings, both self and others, and visualizing them all becoming Buddhas. The light then converges again, dissolving into the white seed syllable A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) in the heart of Shakyamuni Buddha. Furthermore, when reciting here, according to the Uttaratantra of the Kriya General Tantra, it says, "Rely on sound, mind, and basis." Therefore, recitation must be done through the complete four branches of recitation, and the method is: Visualizing that on the lunar disc in one's heart, the mantra with the A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) syllable surrounded by the mantra garland emits one's own sound, this is sound. Visualizing one's own mind, the moon, the A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) syllable, the deity's form, and the mantra garland appearing, this is mind. Focusing on one's own heart is the basis of self. And focusing on the heart of the Guru Shakyamuni Buddha in front, and visualizing other sentient beings as bright deities, this is focusing on the basis of others. Reciting in this alternating manner is the method of performing the four branches of recitation. Whatever form appears, visualize it as the body of Shakyamuni Buddha. Whatever sound is heard, visualize it as the sound of the Muni and other mantras. Whatever thoughts and discriminations arise in the mind, maintain the visualization of the deity's mind, and then recite the mantra, these are the three ways of holding. With any of these visualizations, recite the Muni mantra as much as possible. Reciting the Muni mantra in this way has inconceivable benefits. From the perspective of the tantra, the Bhagavan said in the tantra, "Reciting the Muni mantra once purifies the sins of eighty kotis of kalpas." The kalpa mentioned here refers to the intermediate kalpa, which contains countless billions of years. It means that even if there are sins of eighty kotis of such great kalpas, they will all be purified. From the perspective of the sutra, in the Sutra of Various Wisdoms, it says: Explaining the teachings of the seventeen Mother and Son deities.

Among the eleven sons of action, the one called "The Concise Prajñāpāramitā Syllable" is Muni. How was it spoken? When the Bhagavan was surrounded by many Bodhisattvas and Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, Avalokiteśvara arose and requested the Bhagavan, saying: "For the sake of sentient beings quickly purifying their two obscurations and quickly attaining enlightenment, please bestow the special instruction called 'The Concise Prajñāpāramitā Syllable'." The Bhagavan said: "Good, listen well and keep it in mind, and I will speak." Then he said: Tadyathā. Oṃ Muni Muni Mahā Munaye Svāhā. Through relying on this instruction, many beings in the past have attained Buddhahood. You too, through relying on this instruction, have become the best of Bodhisattvas. Through relying on this, in the future you will attain Buddhahood as a Buddha called King Splendor of Light Rays Radiating Everywhere. He spoke these words including the prophecy of the future. The meaning of that mantra is, Tadyathā means thus. That is, the Buddha said that the concise Prajñāpāramitā syllable is like this, so even if it is not recited now, it is okay. Oṃ is the symbol of the three secrets, so if it is recited, great merit will be obtained. Muni is the Able One. Again, Muni is like that. Mahā means great. Munaye is the Able One. Svāhā is the foundation of all goodness. Because it has such benefits, thinking of such benefits, during the day, standing, walking, sleeping, sitting, wherever it is possible, recite it. At night, when it is time to sleep, recite it as much as possible, and then recite the aspiration prayer such as "By this merit," and especially remembering the meaning of the words such as "Golden light shining," pray from the depths of your heart, it will be very necessary, what is the reason? The Buddha Bhagavan said in the Sutra of the White Lotus of the Good Dharma: "Whoever generates the perception of me as a teacher or a mind of reverence, I will not abandon even a single one of them, and if I do not prophesy their irreversibility with any of the three vehicles, then I have deceived the Buddhas Bhagavans, even to the point of not attaining Buddhahood." He made such a vow. That means, Shakyamuni Buddha himself said to the beings to be tamed, we obtain liberation and omniscience.
