The six kinds of defilements are purified, possessing all virtues, for the purpose of offering to all Buddhas, I perform the bathing with devotion. At the end of each verse, recite the root mantra, and wash away all the unfavorable aspects of the six perfections of the deceased by reciting Shāntiṃ Kuru Svāhā. Greed, hatred, and ignorance are the three poisons of the world. The Three Jewels have no poison. With the truth of the Three Jewels, conquer the poison. The root mantra and all the obscurations of the three poisons of the deceased, Shāntiṃ Kuru Svāhā. The four elements are the father of poison, and the four elements are also the mother of poison. With these true words of truth, may the poison of the deceased be without poison. And to all the essence and the embodiment of compassion, I cry out from the depths of my heart for refuge. Whoever sees, the messengers of Yama and all enemies, terrified, scatter in all ten directions, I take refuge in Vajradhara. In the past, I transgressed your commands, but now, seeing great fear, I seek refuge in you, please quickly protect me from fear. Recite the following verses three times. Then, empower as before. Having empowered in this way, the deceased becomes the nature of a deity. Arrange food, clothing, etc., and purify with incense. Om, may all desires arise from Om and fill the sky. On the final night, light a fire on the support, like the vast Samantabhadra, and when gathering, may the impure aggregates, elements, and sense bases of the deceased's lineage, be burned by the fire of the five bodies and five wisdoms, purified and cleansed. Recite Namo Bhagawate etc., the root mantra, burn the name plaque, and discard the ashes in a clean place. Practicing the path: In the glorious realm adorned with jewels, arising from the adornment of jewels, with the light of the adornment of jewels, the pure garland of jewels, the path of accumulation and the path of joining, the path of seeing and the path of meditation, the unsurpassed special path, the unobstructed path to enlightenment, the path of liberation, relying on these, purify all sins, may I go to that noble path.
