Having placed our right hand on the ground, we recite the hundred and eight essence mantras of the self-generation deity: Oṃ āḥ hūṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:ओम् आः हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Om Ah Hum), and Oṃ hana hana krodha hūṃ phaṭ (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཧ་ན་ཧ་ན་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ།,梵文天城体:ओम् हन हन क्रोध हूँ फट्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ hana hana krodha hūṃ phaṭ,汉语字面意思:Om, strike, strike, wrathful, Hum, Phat). By reciting this, we contemplate that all conventionalities and dharmas are primordially empty in their nature, and it is sufficient to engage in the practice of ultimate truth. Next, the individual practices of the activities are fivefold: pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, wrathful, supreme, or the complete collection of the four activities. First, the fire offering for pacifying sins, obscurations, diseases, evil spirits, obstacles, etc., has three parts: preparation, main practice, and subsequent activities. The first has ten aspects. First, the location where it is to be performed: if it is related to a mandala, then the east of the mandala; if it is not related, then a monastic temple, or a place where the special Three Jewels are present, etc., which is auspicious and blessed. Second, the time: the tantras say that it should be done in the middle month of winter, which is in accordance with astrology. Generally, it should be done in the morning or evening of the first day of the four seasons, etc. Third, the direction: if it is related to a mandala, then the east of the mandala; if it is not related, then the teacher himself must face the east of the elements, so the stove, etc., should be prepared to face him. Fourth, the fire pit: on the ground that has been purified by previous purification, one of the three types of fire pits must be made: a brick-built fire pit, a dug-out fire pit, or a drawn fire pit. However, since the first two are rarely practiced nowadays, according to the drawn fire pit method: on white ground, make a square platform, four finger-widths high and four cubits wide, very smooth. If the ground is not naturally white, paint it with white earth pigment so that it is all white. Then, the fire pit pattern on the platform should not be colored with contrasting colors such as red and black, but with non-repeating colors such as white and yellow, which should be understood for the subsequent rituals as well. Draw diagonal lines on the platform. From the center, draw a circle with a radius of half a cubit, which is the actual fire pit hole. Behind it, draw a lip and an edge, each four fingers wide, and in the center of the three circles, draw an eight-petaled lotus with a five-pronged vajra eight fingers long in the center, with its head pointing east. Draw a garland of vajras on the edge, and draw a half-moon and a vajra on each of the four corners. Outside, at a distance of half a cubit, smear with the five products of a cow, milk, white sandalwood, white incense, etc. Scatter white flowers such as balu flowers on the ground. Fifth, firewood: it should be smoke-free firewood.

Using dry cow dung from nomadic monasteries, or wool tufts and clods of earth are also acceptable, but they must be dry, natural, and round, free of milk or sacrificial wood and animals, slightly shorter or equal in length to the stove. The height should be equal to the height of the stove opening or in accordance with the height of the house, built in a circular shape with an easily flammable fire chamber inside. In order to protect against obstacles from the spirits following the fire deity between the stove and the teacher, a fire screen like a stone slab is erected with a white "വം" (Tibetan: བཾ་, Devanagari: वं, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, Literal meaning: vam) syllable written on it along with snow mountains and lakes. If a fire screen is not available, it is said that obstacles should be removed with activity mantras and activity water immediately after invoking the worldly fire deity. In some Nyingma traditions, a white arrow banner is erected in the center or southeast corner of the stove and waved during the invocation of the fire deity, which seems to be a necessary condition for the phrase "waving the fire banner." In the Minling tradition, four arrows are erected at the four corners of the stove, and a square white cloth or silk is stretched like a canopy, relying on white threads woven crosswise. In the four activities, a red fire banner seems to be erected in the southeast. In the Gongdü system and others, it is first necessary to perform a fierce exorcism fire offering. Therefore, a small fierce fire stove is built in a corner like a stone slab, lit with fire, and mustard seeds and other offerings are made, and then placed in the corner of the fire stove. Sixth, regarding substances, there are two types: offerings and burnt offerings. For the first, in the great treatises, there are the outer three waters and the objects of enjoyment; the inner includes grains, medicines, jewels, white substances, and sweets; the secret includes specially praised material compounds; and detailed explanations of secret hidden oral instruction offerings, etc. However, according to common practice, on the left side of the teacher, on a platform covered with a white cloth, are placed the offerings and tormas of the worldly fire deity and the transcendent mandala deities, two large and small white round tormas made of white grain flour mixed with the three white substances and white jewel powder. To their left and right are containers for medicine and alcohol. In front are placed two or three cleansed offering cups, fumigated with incense, one of which is filled with common offering substances, namely incense, white sesame seeds, flowers, rice, barley, and kusha grass. One is filled with the powder of the five barks (if available). In particular, in the auspicious vase
