If done in this way, then, it is divided into two: explaining the basis of cognition and how to perform the ritual of explanation. The first has seven aspects: the nature of consecration, the object to be consecrated, the need for consecration, the consecrating master, the place where it is done, the time when it is done, and the ritual to be performed. First, regarding the nature, the great master said in the 'Condensed Consecration': 'It is shown as two: necessary and unnecessary,' as it says. All phenomena of samsara and nirvana are primordially pure by nature, and the qualities of spontaneous perfection, the unchanging dharma nature, abiding pervasively like the sky, are realized. For the wise who understand this reality, from the previous text: 'If one understands the meaning of emptiness of dharma nature, who consecrates what with what and where? For the unborn from the beginning, how does one consecrate? In the clear light unborn of all dharmas, those with realization, the objects of offering, do not need consecration.' As it says. Also, for those faithful who regard the supports of images, etc., as manifestations of the compassion of the Tathagatas, transformed into the mudras of body, speech, and mind, from the previous text: 'Or even if one does not realize emptiness, images, scriptures, stupas, etc., arise from the blessings of the Buddha's manifestations. If they do not arise from that, they do not arise. If one understands this and has great faith, consecration is not necessary.' As it says. Therefore, for the common trainees who have not understood these two meanings, the ritual of consecration is necessary in order to place them in the state of the two accumulations, because: 'Dwelling in worldly conventions, it is taught for the sake of relative truth,' as it is said with the distinction of definitive and provisional meanings. From the distinction of consecration, it is also said: 'All Buddhas dwell in all places, but there is no consecration at all. However, relying on worldly conventions, consecration is established.' As it says. The essence is: gathering all the great qualities of the Buddha on the support, making it meaningful with auspiciousness. As it is said in the 'Wrathful One's Ritual': 'Having made an image of the Victorious One, respectfully offer to it as to the Victorious One. The Able One, having seen it thus, protects sentient beings.' As it says. Also, in the essential instructions of the essence, it is said: 'Seeing the supports, think that these are things born from blessings.'

Therefore. The Tathagata is it. Generate faith and respect. Thus it is said. In short, for the supports of body, speech, and mind, possessing the blessings of incorporating wisdom. The abode of the five aggregates of samsara, is precisely body, speech, and mind. Thus it is said. The meaning of the words is: From the words "Supratiṣṭha Vidhi," it is the ritual of accomplishing well and causing to abide long. Because the support is accomplished as the nature of a wisdom being, it is excellent, and because it causes it to exist as long as samsara exists, it is long-lasting. These two are also called the consecration ritual because they are related to inviting and incorporating the wisdom being and the stable abiding. Also, Su, very good. Prati, each. ṣṭha, abiding. That is, abiding in the nature of each support can also be understood in this way. In the Vajra Establishment it is said: For the body image of the Tathagata, for the cause of boundless liberation, one should invite and incorporate the Buddhas. Thus it is said. Second, what is the support to be established? As stated in the Discrimination Sutra: Represented by hammering, writing, carving, etc., the support of the body image is the manifestation of the Tathagata in peaceful and wrathful forms. The support of speech is the scriptures of the complete Buddhas and noble ones. The support of mind is the support of the Dharmakaya, a general name, specifically named as the eight great stupas, etc., as well as other temples, ornaments, and implements. These also need to have their respective shapes and decorations, possess their respective characteristics, and meet the standards, namely: The body image is complete with characteristics, possesses peaceful and other expressions, conforms to the size standards and is exquisite, only then can it be consecrated. Thus it is said. Third, the necessity of establishing, from the aspect of the merits of faults and virtues, is divided into two. First, the faults of not consecrating are: If the support is not consecrated, or if it is consecrated with inferior rituals, it will be inauspicious and will not become a field of merit. Wherever the body image is extremely complete, if it abides for a long time without being blessed, inauspicious things will happen, and it is not suitable for offering until then. Thus it is said. One should not perform with inferior rituals, consecration always brings inauspiciousness, suffering in this life, and great terror in the next life. Thus it is said. Second, consecrating
