Please accomplish everything! Please remove all obstacles to practicing Mahayana Buddhism! Pray intensely in this way. Finally, visualize the lama entering from the crown of your head and residing in the tent of light in your heart. With this root of virtue of mine, may I attain the precious state of complete and perfect enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings! Dedicate the merit in this way. This is something that must be done once before all the common stages of meditation below. Second, the actual guidance is also divided into two: learning the stages common to the small and medium persons. The first part is divided into five: the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, impermanence of death, suffering of the lower realms, contemplating the law of karma, and taking refuge. First, after performing the preliminary practices of the common session as before, then relinquish attachment to all places, body, and possessions, as the basis for all future visualizations. This human body that I have obtained this time is extremely difficult to obtain at any time. Do not waste it, be sure to do something beneficial for the Dharma, think like this from the depths of your heart. As it is said in the Sutra of Great Compassion White Lotus: It is difficult to obtain a human birth, it is also difficult to obtain leisure and endowment, it is also difficult for a Buddha to appear in the world, it is also difficult to desire virtue, it is also difficult to obtain the right aspiration. Thus it is said, the human body is difficult to obtain from the point of view of its essence, having obtained the eight leisures that are free from the eight unfree states in essence, possessing the ten endowments in characteristics, such a body is extremely difficult to obtain. Among them, the eight unfree states are: hells that constantly experience the suffering of heat and cold, hungry ghosts that are constantly tormented by hunger and thirst, animals that are extremely foolish and mute, long-lived gods who have no time to practice Dharma due to the distractions of sensual pleasures and samadhi, barbarians who, although human, are born in border areas with the consciousness of animals, heretics who do not believe in the cause and effect of virtue and non-virtue and high and low rebirths, being born in a world where no Buddha has appeared, not being born among those who are incomplete in their faculties, becoming foolish and mute and unable to understand good and evil, therefore possessing the eight leisures. In general, having obtained a human body, especially being born in the central land where the Dharma flourishes

Born. With the five senses complete, one can understand whatever is taught. Without creating wrong views and the five heinous crimes, the consequences of actions are not reversed. Possessing faith in the teachings of the Buddha, the source of white dharma, and the five self-endowments are complete. The Buddha appeared in the world. He spoke the sacred Dharma. His teachings have not disappeared but remain. Many also enter into it. Because practitioners are compassionately given support by others, the five other-endowments are complete. Therefore, one should think that the precious human body is difficult to obtain, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, and not waste the opportunity to obtain this human body, but strive to practice the Dharma. Considering the numbers, what is difficult to obtain is: beings in hell are like the dust on the earth; beings in the preta realm are like a blizzard; beings in the animal realm are like the lees of beer in the entire ocean; scattered beings are like those filling the earth, sky, mountains, and rivers; beings in the heavenly realm are like the dust on a fingernail. In general, the number of human beings is even less than these. Especially the people of Jambudvipa (the human realm). In particular, a human body practicing the Dharma is like a star in the daytime. The reason is that among sentient beings, those who commit evil deeds are many, and those who do good are few. Among these beings, the reason for obtaining a human body is that few can keep the precepts, so it is said that a human body is difficult to obtain. It can also be understood in conjunction with the teachings such as the needle in the ocean. Thinking about the great significance of obtaining a human body is: relying on this human body, one can obtain the happiness of samsara in all lifetimes, the state of liberation, and even the unsurpassed fruit of Buddhahood. It will be difficult to obtain such a leisure and endowment in the future, so one must abandon the happiness of this life, which is like a dream, and strive to practice the Dharma. As Shantideva said: "When such leisure is obtained, if I do not practice virtue, there is no greater deception than this, and there is no greater delusion than this." Thus. Second, contemplating impermanence, contemplating certain and swift death. The sutra says: "Monks, all conditioned phenomena are impermanent." Therefore, in general, all conditioned phenomena cannot escape the four extremes of destruction, so they are impermanent. In particular, the life of beings is like a water bubble, and one does not know when it will disappear. Even if one obtains a human body, one will surely die, and no one can remain alive without dying. The body is a conditioned phenomenon, so it is not permanent. Life passes moment by moment, and one is getting closer and closer to death, like
