Since nectar is beneficial to it, it is called nectar. In the Eight Chapters of Nectar, it says: The three realms are inherently five nectars, uncreated, spontaneously accomplished, perfect Buddhas. The three poisons, the three realms, body, speech, and mind, are inherently nectar. Therefore, it is proclaimed from the expanse of certainty. Therefore, all phenomena encompassed by the three realms appear as the five afflictions of real appearances, the five objects of desire, the five great elements, and the five aggregates. They themselves are inherently the five self-arisen nectars, completely pure, not separated by other causes, not fabricated, but manifestly enlightened from the beginning. Therefore, all phenomena of the three times, such as samsara and nirvana, are perfected as body, speech, and mind, and appear as such. As it is said in the medicine offerings of great mandalas such as illusion: "United with all Buddhas, self-arisen, primordially pure." It is said that the samaya substance nectar, which is united with all Buddhas, is self-arisen and has the nature of being primordially pure. This is related to the certainty of meaning. Second, indicating the etymology: mṛ (Sanskrit Devanagari: मृ, Sanskrit Romanization: mṛ, Chinese literal meaning: death) is the realm of abandoning life, with the suffix kta (Sanskrit Devanagari: क्त, Sanskrit Romanization: kta, Chinese literal meaning: done) added, and the negative prefix nañ (Sanskrit Devanagari: नञ्, Sanskrit Romanization: nañ, Chinese literal meaning: without) placed before it, becoming amṛta (Sanskrit Devanagari: अमृत, Sanskrit Romanization: amṛta, Chinese literal meaning: immortal), from the sound of the word immortal, it is applied to nectar, which is the nourishment or medicine that eliminates the fear of death, and therefore has the etymology of nectar. The great teacher said: The samaya substance nectar is completely pure, and there are five, namely, feces, urine, bodhicitta, rakta, and human flesh. These five are seen as impure and defiled, so they are similar to demons, but they arise from oneself and are primordially pure, so they are similar to essence. Nectar destroys and purifies afflictions and the five poisons, therefore it is called samaya substance nectar. Furthermore, in the "Profound Illumination of Nagarjuna," it is said: "Holding onto purity and impurity as demons, samaya substance as essence, in the state of wisdom, the taste is one." This has etymology. Third, regarding the manner of stating the basis: The nectar that possesses that etymology is inherently the play of the nature of reality, without acceptance or rejection, and therefore should also be accepted. As it is said in the "Branch of Illusion": "Nectar is inherently the pure dharma, without acceptance or rejection, beyond all. As the samaya of the great primordial protector, the wise should accept it." And, it is the nature of the five families.
