The special place is blessed by the previous accomplished masters. Even if one practices in an ordinary and noisy place, siddhis will not be achieved, and obstacles will arise, making it vulnerable. Such a place possesses virtues that are the opposite of this. Third, regarding the timing of practice, there are two aspects: when to practice and how long to practice. First, when to practice: For external practice, one should engage in auspicious white months when the planets and stars are in good conjunction, as an auspicious connection for increasing merit. Since it is the festival of the Medicine Buddha, internal practice should begin on the eighth day of the white month. For secret practice, for the gathering of heroes and dakinis, it should begin on the tenth day of the waxing moon and the tenth night of the waning moon. As for activity practice, it is said that there is no fixed time, and it should be done as a daily yoga. Second, how long to practice: As stated in the "Jewel Lamp Illuminating the Signs of the Path," one should practice until the respective signs of realization manifest for people of superior and intermediate capacity. For people of inferior capacity whose signs of realization are not clear, one should strive to complete the number of recitations mentioned in each practice. Fourth, the requisites: In general, one should have the necessary conditions such as food for sustenance, as well as sacred objects such as representations of the deities and offerings, as much as one can afford. In particular, one should gather the supports mentioned in each specific practice. Although one has wealth, it is a great fault and absolutely unacceptable to neglect the supports for practice and offerings. Because the supports have the key of interdependent origination, and offerings are the cause of perfecting the two accumulations, one must prepare them according to the scriptures, purely and abundantly. If one postpones practice due to poverty, that is an obstacle. By relying solely on faith and inner yoga, both common and supreme accomplishments will be achieved, so one should do as much as one can afford. Fifth, there are two ways to practice: common and specific. First, the common: Abandon all distractions of the three doors and engage in practice with a single-pointed mind. This includes strong faith and devotion to the deity being practiced, unwavering single-pointed confidence in the Dharma of the practice and the lama who bestows it, a firm commitment to not interrupt the practice no matter what happens, and never falling under the influence of laziness and sloth.

With strong perseverance, the practice will be quickly completed, and other aspects of discipline, such as what to accept and reject, should also be implemented as usual. Second, there are five ways to explain the specific practice: outer practice, inner practice, secret practice, combined practice, and the combination of activities. First, there are three ways to practice the outer practice of the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel: preliminary accumulation and purification, main practice of meditation and recitation, and transformation of activities. The first is divided into two: setting up the support, and actual accumulation and purification. The first is: In a clean room, on a covered platform, on a mandala smeared with good fragrance, draw four lotus petals, and place piles of grain in the center and four directions. On top of that, place a blessed image of the venerable Guna, either painted or sculpted. In front of the image, display offerings such as Arura, gold color, six kinds of good medicine, as well as gems and various silks. Second, there are six aspects to accumulation and purification: refuge, bodhicitta, praise and prostration, mandala, Vajrasattva meditation and recitation, and Kusulu feast accumulation. First, taking refuge is the foundation of all paths of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles: thinking about the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, the impermanence of the environment and beings, etc., to arouse renunciation and the determination to turn the mind towards Dharma, on a comfortable cushion, with unwavering faith and great respect, keep mindfulness close. The object of refuge is the essence of the Three Jewels, namely the Buddha, the King of Medicine, and the incomparable Guna, inseparable from that image, visualize that his body resides in the sky in front as a mass of light. With oneself and all sentient beings as vast as the sky, until attaining the essence of enlightenment, from the depths of the heart, with the intention of taking refuge, recite with one-pointed mind: Namo. (Literal Chinese meaning). Recite one hundred and one times. After learning to place oneself under the protection of the Guru and the Three Jewels, which is the conventional refuge, the object of refuge is the Dharmadhatu, the refuge-taker is one's own mind, and the method of refuge is its function. These are equal in taste in emptiness from the beginning, and abiding in this nature is the cause of the ultimate refuge.
