From meditating on this, one purifies all adventitious obscurations arising from concepts and accumulates merit. Through the Completion Stage, one directly experiences reality as it is, thereby purifying the seed-like obscurations and perfecting the accumulation of wisdom. Therefore, in relation to this, the root text states, "Secondly, there are the Generation and Completion Stages." Thus, there are two stages: the Generation Stage and the Completion Stage. Within the first, there are two approaches: the extensive approach, which emphasizes the Generation Stage, and the concise approach, which uses the Generation Stage merely as a support while emphasizing the Completion Stage. As for the first: The root text states, "Firstly, in the extensive stage, if you wish, meditate on all its instructions according to the sadhana." This means relying on the support of the sadhana, uniting oneself with it, and, according to the ritual, visualizing the outer mandala, which is the outer practice, a branch of the approach. The inner practice involves placing the mandala on the body, which is a branch of the practice. The secret practice involves placing it on the channels, which is the union of actions. Even more secret is placing it on the mind, thereby recognizing the deity's form as the manifestation of wisdom. Therefore, the latter two are actually branches of the great practice. However, since this is a time when the Completion Stage is mainly practiced, these are set aside. If interested, one can learn about them from the root sadhana, the mother tantra, and the subsequent approach manuals, etc. The second, concise approach, is divided into the yoga of body mudras and the yoga of speech recitation. As for the first: The root text states, "Or, having completed the preliminaries, from the state of emptiness, in an instant, one becomes Lord Avalokiteshvara, complete with all ornaments and attire, clear and unmixed, visualizing oneself as the essence of the samaya deity, in the center of the body, the dhuti (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning) – the central channel. The Chakrasamvara (tantra) states: 'This form of the spinal column is the support of the supreme Heruka. The aggregates, elements, etc., are the pillars of the Buddha, this is the language of manifestation.' White on the outside, red on the inside, on the two sides of clarity and immovability, are the Roma and Kyangma, filled with blood and semen. In the center of the four chakras, they are invisible in the manner of absorption. From the Roma arises rakta (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning), and from the Kyangma arises shukra (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning). Together, rising from above and below, they ripen into the wheel of dharma. These two become the moon and the sun. In the center of that, the wind-mind essence HRIH (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning). The three merge into one, and from that...

Radiant light, gathered and unified, what kind of wisdom mind is oneself! Clear and bright, radiating light, possessing all ornaments and attire, in the heart, within a red lotus, the meditation seed syllable (hrīḥ, Devanagari: ह्रीः, Romanized Sanskrit: hrīḥ, literal meaning: shame) is the size of a mustard seed. Thus it is said. Furthermore, it is said that if one cannot practice extensively, then practice this concise method, which is a selective statement. The method of practice is as follows: Initially, the key instructions state: "The experience and realization of the actual practice, is the door to the path that swiftly generates." Therefore, the preliminaries are the door to generating the experience and realization of the actual path. If one has already completed them thoroughly, then it is sufficient to practice only refuge, bodhicitta, and guru yoga. If not, in the early session, the common and uncommon preliminaries should be practiced vigorously and persistently, for as long or short a time as appropriate. In the later sessions, if one wants to condense the practice, one should only do the preliminaries for entering the session, then adopt a body posture similar to the seven-point posture, and abide in the meditation on emptiness, the purity of all phenomena, which is the union of grasping and the grasped, naturally pure. For sentient beings who have not realized this, who are like illusions, one should abide for a moment in the meditation on the unobstructed compassion, the manifestation of skillful means, the all-pervading appearance. From the cause of the union of these two, on a lotus and sun-moon seat, visualize oneself as the Lord, the Great Compassionate One, Avalokiteśvara, with a red body, one face, and four arms. The first two hands are joined in prayer at the heart, with the vajra knot mudra, embracing the consort. The lower two hands hold a lotus rosary in the right hand and the stem of a red lotus in the left hand. Seated in the vajra posture, adorned with silk, jewels, and bone ornaments. Light rays of stainless purity emanate from the body. Beautiful and pleasing, with a wrathful-smiling expression. In his lap is the consort, the Secret Wisdom Mother, with a clear red body, one face, and four arms. The first two hands hold a curved knife and a skull cup, embracing the father from the neck. The lower right hand holds a sword, and the lower left hand holds a khatvanga. Both feet embrace the father in the lotus posture, naked, with hair unbound, possessing the appearance of youthful beauty, adorned with bone ornaments. This is the order of visualizing the samaya being, gradually clarifying it. If it is not clear, then visualize a painted image.
