What is this? This path is not found by gods and nagas, nor by asuras and, sky-goers, vidyadharas, human or non-human beings, and those who move on their bellies. As it is said, just as a poor person finds a wish-fulfilling jewel, I have obtained a precious human body. Relying on the lama, I am able to practice the profound teachings, and I am very happy about this. Do not be attached to the appearances of this life, retinue, relatives, enjoyments, etc. Now, you must strive to seize the path of liberation. If you do not strive, it is more foolish than a captain returning empty-handed from the ocean. Even if you have not stopped breathing, you are a walking corpse. Even if you have not carried filth, you are a madman. Even if you have not stopped breathing, you are a zombie. Therefore, the great teacher said: Now is the time when all the perfect conditions are met, strive with fierce diligence to transcend samsara. Therefore, just as you must cross the river when you have a boat, the army of heroes subdues the enemy on the battlefield, and you must sow seeds when water, fertilizer, warmth, and moisture are abundant, at this time when all the conditions for practicing Dharma are complete, do not let all actions be meaningless, For the cultivation of lifetimes, for the desire to liberate oneself, think single-mindedly of the pure Dharma, even if it means dying. Second, the guidance on contemplating impermanence of life: The key point book says: In order to pursue meaningful things in this life, contemplate impermanence and death truthfully. Think like this: Taking the essence from leisure and endowment is like holding a snake in the arms of a coward, or a fire burning on the head of a beautiful woman, do not delay until tomorrow, act immediately. The reason is that we have now obtained this rare support of leisure and endowment, but it will not stay for long, and we will surely die. Since birth, I have not seen or heard of a single being who can live a long life without dying. It is not even possible to have a doubt of "is there or is there not." As Ashvagosha said: On earth or in the heavens, whoever is born and does not die, if you have seen or heard, or have doubts. So you will surely die. It is also said in the teachings of impermanence: Like a pool of water with the source cut off, there is no increase but only decrease, everything is on the path of death, who can trust the sudden life?

That. Because life does not increase from the outside but only decreases, one dies quickly. Like a pond with its water source cut off and its bottom broken, life is exhausted. Like the shadow of the setting sun, life diminishes. Like a granary being emptied, life is consumed. Just as an animal being led to slaughter takes steps, the years, months, days, and even mornings and evenings bring death closer, yet one does not realize this, which is truly foolish. Moreover, it is not reliable to think that one will not die even tonight. As it says in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: "It is not reasonable to live comfortably, thinking, 'I will not die today.'" Like a startled horse or a moth encountering a flame, there is not even a slight certainty that death will not come suddenly, like facing Rahu. In short, life is shorter than an autumn mist, easier to part with than friends, relatives, gatherings, markets, and guests. Enjoyment is less reliable than an illusion. The Lord of Death comes faster than the evening shadow, which is truly frightening. The great teacher said: "This life is impermanent like an autumn cloud; friends and relatives are like guests at a market; the Lord of Death is like the evening shadow; the next life is like a summer fish; the appearances of this life are like last night's dream; the enjoyment of sensual pleasures is like a magic show; meaningless actions are like ripples in water." And: "In short, the end of birth is death; the end of gathering is separation; accumulation leads to exhaustion and the loss of wealth." Therefore, the end of birth is death, the end of gathering is separation, the end of accumulation is exhaustion, and the end of height is falling, and one cannot escape these four. Previously, one accepted this without thinking, but now, thinking about it, one's own body, like a bubble in water, will surely perish. At that time, as it says in the *Manjushri-vikridita Sutra*: "Parents are not your protectors, nor are friends and relatives. They will abandon you and depart, and you will go alone to the next life." Therefore, one's own built castles, accumulated wealth, associated relatives, etc., all must be abandoned, and one will go to the next world like a hair pulled from butter, without knowing when. So, cherish this brief life, like the sunrise between clouds, and practice a Dharma that will prepare you for lifetimes to come.
