Garuda, the king of birds who subdues the nāgas! Two aspects of skillful means and wisdom, black and white. By bestowing empowerment upon this fortunate one, may all malevolence be subdued! (Tibetan: སརྦ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥིཉྩ་ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: sarva samaya abhiṣiñca āḥ, Chinese literal meaning:) Thus, by dissolving all the deities into their respective places, one obtains the power to manifest the emanations of whichever of the nine classes of sādhana deities subdues, acting without obstruction like a reflection of the moon in water. Following that, to bestow the recited transmission, from the heart of the great glorious Heruka, strings of mantras emerge with sound and light. Visualize them dissolving into the seed syllables in your hearts, and repeat these mantras of approach, accomplishment, and activity. Oṃ āḥ hūṃ bodhicitta mahāsukha jñānadhātu ā! Through these, one gains mastery over all aspects of the speech mantras of the Great Glorious One, and the power to act freely in all activities of approach, accomplishment, and activity, like an echo in a rock. These are the empowerments of the inner deities. Thus, in the outer, characterized maṇḍala, one receives the vase empowerment. The impurities of the body are purified, and the appearance of phenomena is purified into emptiness. One gains mastery over the path, the practice of the generation stage. The potential for the path of union and below is placed in the continuum. One is made capable of attaining the result, the vajra body, the nirmāṇakāya. Second, bestowing the secret empowerment: All the tathāgatas are invited by the sound of joy and rays of light from the union of the guru Heruka, father and mother. As they enter through the crown of the head, the bodhicitta is melted by the fire of great desire, extracted from the secret space, and together with the skullcup, is dissolved on the tongue. Gurus, maṇḍala deities, the bodhicitta of non-dual union, by empowering the speech of this fortunate one, may the empowerment of great bliss and secrecy be attained! Thus, in the mandala of the bodies of the father and mother lamas, you receive the secret empowerment. The defilements of speech are purified. The mind realizes clarity and emptiness, beyond words. You are empowered to practice the yoga of the channels and winds of the path. The power of the first bhumi of the path of seeing is placed in your mindstream. You are made fortunate to attain the fruition of the Sambhogakaya, the speech vajra. Third, the empowerment of wisdom and knowledge is: Visualize entrusting the action mudra with characteristics. The characteristics of the lineage are all complete, This supreme mudra should be relied upon, The realm of the four chakras should be subdued and held, The great bliss itself should be realized. Self-awareness, bliss and emptiness, beyond words, are realized. You are empowered to practice the messenger of the path. You are made fortunate to attain the fruition of the Dharmakaya, the mind vajra. Fourth, the empowerment of suchness is: Relying on the symbol of clear and transparent manshel, represent the nature of the great bliss wisdom experienced during the wisdom empowerment, and rest equally in the state of great bliss, free from elaboration.
