Other things are of no benefit. Therefore, from now on, one must diligently practice pure Dharma. Even if one expands business, agriculture, and other activities, and raises offspring, it is difficult to manage many things at once, and it is unnecessary. No matter how much wealth one accumulates, in reality, it is only enough to barely fill one's stomach. If one can keep this entire body from freezing, then even if one accumulates many clothes, they will mostly be used by others, and in reality, one does not know who they belong to. Even if one accumulates clothes and ultimately wants to do a great virtuous deed, it is difficult to achieve. Even if one achieves it, it is difficult to have pure and unadulterated virtuous actions that are not mixed with fame, praise, and so on. Therefore, it is better to cultivate diligence in the Dharma that one knows from now on, as it is more beneficial to oneself. Virtuous actions bring happiness, and evil actions bring suffering; karma is not deceptive. Not to mention experiencing the suffering of samsara, such as the three lower realms, even just hearing about it is frightening. I have no certainty that I will not be reborn in the lower realms after death. What will I do if I am reborn there? Alas, it is my fault that I have not thought about this properly before. Now that I think about it, if I do not diligently practice the true Dharma from now on, I will ultimately regret it, and it will be too late. Moreover, half of one's life is spent sleeping, and the other half is spent in idle chatter and wandering around. Even if one intends to practice Dharma, it is almost impossible to achieve. Friends and relatives whom one has tried to help may turn into enemies. The wealth one has accumulated with effort may be used to end one's own life. Therefore, no matter how hard one tries to subdue enemies, protect friends, accumulate wealth, and pursue fame and profit in this life, it is ultimately meaningless. Instead, one should strive to practice the Dharma as a means of attaining ultimate liberation. One should think in this way. Therefore, think in this way: the only ones who can save us from the suffering of the three realms of samsara are the Three Jewels, so we should take refuge in them. And visualize the land where you are, made of precious jewels, beautiful and pleasing, vast and boundless.
