The three signs are: the body is like a corpse in a charnel ground, even surrounded by hundreds of executioners, there is no fear or shame. Speech is like the echo of a rock, repeating the words of others. The mind is like a mist in the sky, disappearing into nothingness, the accumulation of karmic imprints does not appear and is realized. Third, nailing down with three attainments: In "Vast Clarity" it says, "By nailing down with three attainments, the contaminated aggregates do not appear." Therefore, by gaining autonomy over birth, one does not appear as an obstructive object. By gaining autonomy over entry, one places awareness on objects and abides in one's own nature, therefore appearing as the object itself. By gaining autonomy over wind and mind, one obtains all ten signs and qualities. Since karma has no good or bad, even if sentient beings who have committed the five heinous crimes, when other sentient beings transmigrate, placing awareness in them, they can attain enlightenment together. Fourth, showing the degree of liberation with four certainties: In "Pearl Rosary" it says, "The degree is the yoga of four certainties." And, in "Heap of Jewels Tantra" it says, "With the four great certainties of unchanging view, one also grasps the degree of irreversible wisdom." Here there are two upward certainties and two downward certainties. The first two are, having no expectation of attaining the qualities of the Buddha and no doubt of not attaining them, that is, realizing that there is no other Buddha than self-awareness. The latter two are, even seeing the suffering of the six realms, having no expectation of falling into samsara and no doubt of falling, that is, knowing that self-awareness is originally free from delusion, therefore there is no one wandering in samsara. Sixth, the way of liberation of the future result is: The scriptures say that there are three kinds of faculties: superior, middling, and inferior. Among them, the superior faculty gradually goes through the stages in this life, abandoning the remaining obstructive objects, and thus attains enlightenment. As it says in "Mirror of the Heart": "Perfect enlightenment will bring light, sound, body, relics, and earthquakes, etc." It's like that. That is, abandoning the body of karmic maturation and attaining the uncontaminated body is called without remainder, and transforming the elemental body into the uncontaminated body of wisdom is called with remainder, which is the combination of sound and meaning. The way of liberation in the bardo for the intermediate faculty is: In "Complete Transformation" it says, "From the four kinds of birth." Therefore, there are four bardos: the bardo of birth and death or nature, the bardo of dying, the bardo of dharmata, and the bardo of existence.

First, the bardo of natural state is: from the moment of conception in the mother's womb until struck by the disease of death. Second, the bardo of dying is: approaching death, until the cessation of inner breath. Third, the bardo of dharmata is: the cessation of inner breath, the appearance of the clear light, until the absorption into the spontaneously accomplished appearances. Fourth, the bardo of becoming is: after the absorption of the spontaneously accomplished appearances, until the establishment of the next rebirth. The first of these instructions on how to take these paths individually is: The text says, "Cutting through doubts in the bardo of the birth place is like opening a box full of things." Therefore, one must rely on a noble lama and, through hearing, thinking, and meditating on the meaning of the instructions he gives, be sure to cut through doubts. The second is: The text says, "Applying clarity in the bardo of dying is like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror." Therefore, one should make the instructions previously meditated upon clearly appear in the mind at this time. The third is: The text says, "Having faith in the bardo of dharmata is like a child running into its mother's lap." Therefore, since the meaning of the instructions has been absorbed into practice, no matter how the appearances of dharmata arise, one should understand that there is no fear, and that it is the play of self-appearing wisdom. The fourth is: The text says, "Continuing the momentum of karma in the bardo of becoming is like a fox entering a broken embankment." Therefore, no matter how illusory appearances and fears arise, one should enter the path of rebirth through the key points of the instructions that have been practiced previously and that will be explained by others in this way. These methods have been explained in detail in the context of "The Innate Bardo Instructions: Awareness Itself Liberated" of the Glorious Great Bliss Heart Essence, so please understand them there. For individuals of the lowest capacity, the text says, "Relaxing in the realm of the natural sambhogakaya, now the realization of the inseparability of the inner clear light body and wisdom manifests, and until samsara ends, without effort, the benefit of others will not be interrupted." The Rangshar says, "Those who see the truth, even if realization has not arisen in their continuum, will abide in the realms of the ten directions of emanations and ultimately attain liberation." Therefore, even if the meaning of appearance is seen here, but because stability has not been attained, one becomes a person with incomplete practice, and does not possess the level of liberation of the bardo. Even if the bardo of dharmata arises, these people will not recognize it and will enter into becoming.
