The mother also thought so. On the 22nd day of the Tiger Month of the Horse Year, written at the foot of the eastern white snow mountain, at the Auspicious Upper Monastery of Dharma Dzong, may it greatly benefit all sentient beings! Powa Yeshe Sanglam Ma, composed by Ma Ratna Lingpa. Homage to the three roots: Lama, Yidam, and Dakini. Here, the essential instructions on attaining Buddhahood by meditating on the heart essence of Orgyen Padmasambhava, the three roots and their fruition. Powa Yeshe Sanglam Ma, which attains Buddhahood without meditation. This Powa practice comes from yellow scrolls, but the words are concise and the meaning is obscure, making it difficult for later generations of people with inferior intelligence to understand and practice accordingly. Therefore, I will explain it in detail here based on the scriptures and my own experience, and I pray that the three roots will bless me. First, the scripture says: "Ema, if the time has come, the yogi should practice Powa." Therefore, it should be practiced when all three external, internal, and secret signs of death have appeared. If practiced at the wrong time, there is a risk of wasting the precious human body with leisure and opportunity. Therefore, be careful and have firm confidence. "When the elements dissolve and the breath is exhausted," that is, when the external senses stop functioning, the eyes sometimes recognize people and sometimes do not, feeling the body sinking, making it difficult to take breath into the body, the body temperature drops, and consciousness becomes blurred. At this time, do not interrupt awareness, and remember the guru and the key points. "Meditate on the generation stage, clearly visualize whatever," that is, do not be disturbed by the pain of illness. If the body cannot remain upright, then be supported by friends, and try to remain upright. Visualize the yidam you like, and do your best to visualize for as long as you can. "Take refuge and generate devotion intensely," if the pain is light or great bodhicitta arises, then you can recite it aloud. If you cannot recite, then focus your mind and pray that the guru will abide on the crown of your head, and take refuge wholeheartedly. Taking refuge should also be done intensely with the mind. "Family, enjoyment, and dwelling place, abandon attachment to everything, and abide with single-minded focus," that is, relatives and friends, wealth and enjoyment, offerings and Buddha statues, and even things as small as needles and threads, should be cut off from attachment and clinging. Think: What is the use of clinging now? This thought should be cut off. The so-called "end of a hundred lifetimes" also refers to this time. All disciples must remember this! If you are attached and clinging, then how should you do it?

Even on top of not being able to stay for a single moment, and going to hell again, one needs a great armor-like determination of non-attachment and non- clinging. On top of that, clearly establish the previous virtuous deeds. With one-pointed devotion to the Lama, remain in the state of reality as it is. Then open the Brahma hole at the crown of the head and transfer the consciousness. Now, the actual transference is, the transference that combines death with karma, and the two practices mentioned above. That is, one's own consciousness, in the center of the citta, A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A) white, the nature of light, possessing five colors, oily and round, the forty-two peaceful deities of the citta, circumambulating three times, within the central channel, from the Brahma hole like an arrow shot, awareness without support, transfers into space, at the time of transference with the sound of "Hik" (Tibetan: ཧིཀ, Devanagari: हिक्, Romanized Sanskrit: hik, Literal meaning: Hik), practice until death. As it is said, one should transfer in this way: from the crown of the head to the navel, where one visualizes oneself as the Yidam, the central channel is red and white in color, the inside is empty like an empty room, or like glass, appearing as a pale blue, empty and clear. In the heart of that, visualize one's own mind as a white A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A), the size of a bean. Around that, visualize the forty-two peaceful deities, like a rainbow, possessing five colors, vividly bright. That is, the essence is mind, the appearance is deities, the form is like a vase body, vividly bright, from the middle of that, a white A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A) shoots out like an arrow, in the heart circumambulating the peaceful deities three times, rotating, visualize rising upwards from the Brahma hole at the crown of the head, combined with the breath, saying "Hik" (Tibetan: ཧིཀ, Devanagari: हिक्, Romanized Sanskrit: hik, Literal meaning: Hik). Turn the eyes upwards and stare, press the abdomen close to the back, do these simultaneously, faint within the limits of what can be endured. The teeth make a clicking sound, the body trembles, push until the sound of wind comes out of the crown of the head. The posture of the body, the way of pushing the breath, the way to deal with excess, and the four methods of increasing life, reversing, and suppressing, should be learned from the Lama. Then there are the qualities of the aftermath: signs appear, possessing certainty, even a samsaric being carried away by distraction, at the time of transference, just remembering is enough. Even if one is a sinful hunter, because this is a secret path of skillful means, having this, there is no turning back in samsara. Why is the key to relying on skillful means, a Dharma that is even more profound than the profound. Orgyen Padmasambhava, in order to perfect the conditions for yoga, hid it as a treasure for the benefit of the future. This is what there is.
