Since it had been a long time, he wished to establish that kingdom upon the sacred Dharma, and the king himself encouraged great virtue. He himself, in the center of the garden, made temples and dwellings for the Sangha, surrounded by stupas, and built many layers of iron walls. At that time, one who was a servant of the teacher served as the king's scribe, and two others belonged to the ministers. Those ones developed evil thoughts, and they secretly conspired, saying: "We three shall devise a way to possess these lands." Once, that scribe said to the king: "Padma Avabhāsa (པདྨ་ཨ་བ་བྷ་སཱི་,padma a ba bha sA,Padma-avabhāsa,Lotus Light) certainly desires to rule the kingdom. He himself and about a thousand ordained ones residing in this garden are skilled in the ways of enemies and are only brave warriors in battle. That garden has also been transformed into a monastery." He falsely claimed that building strong iron walls and so on was for the purpose of fighting the king. When the king asked the ministers, due to the proclamation of those two ministers and the power of jealousy, everyone spoke in accordance with that. The king sent those ministers along with an army. At that time, in Oḍḍiyāna, there was no law for kings to kill Brahmins, ascetics, and panditas, so the king proclaimed: "Foremost one, you and your object of worship, the Sangha, abandon your belongings and go to another land." The Sangha departed. As the teacher was also leaving in that way, the ministers said: "If we do not kill this one, he will harm us later." So they sent many executioners. When those ones bound the teacher with ropes and iron chains, by the power of the knowledge-mantra, the ropes were cut and the iron chains were broken. When weapons were struck, the teacher's body was not harmed, and the weapons were broken into many pieces. When burned in fire, he was not consumed. When thrown into water, he dove like a bird and disappeared. When thrown off a cliff, he was unharmed. When buried in the ground and hidden, he tunneled through the earth from a great distance and left, and even when seized, he could not be captured. After that, the teacher did not go to the cities, but wandered and practiced from charnel ground to charnel ground in other lands, in the charnel ground.

The demons and ogres became accomplices, and within seven days, the former king's scribes, ministers, and executioners either died from their houses burning down, or they took their own lives, leaving no one behind. The king also passed away, afflicted by a venomous snake. Thereafter, the master remained in those charnel grounds for a long time, becoming friends with powerful beings such as bhutas, ogres, flesh-eaters, and dakinis. By diligently reciting vidya-mantras, he saw the faces and heard the voices of all the Vajra Wrathful Ones, including the Conqueror of the Three Realms and Yama's Executioner. He interacted with beings like the Great Black One and the Seven Mothers as if conversing with people. He enslaved all the malevolent nagas and yakshas. He gained mastery over a hundred thousand fierce mantras of both worldly and transcendental realms. At that time, together with powerful non-human entities, he repeatedly visited the eight great charnel grounds that had existed since the beginning of time in Jambudvipa, using the magical power of mantra recitation. There, he also met the eight primordial divine masters and accomplished individual common siddhis. Specifically, in the charnel ground Ghorandhakarana, resided a master named Dhanuskrita, who accomplished the siddhi of the sword. In the densely overgrown charnel ground, resided a master named Sai-bu, whose siddhi was the pill. In the densely burning charnel ground, resided a master named Nima-bu, whose siddhi was eye medicine. In the terrifying skull charnel ground, resided a master named Amritaprabha, whose siddhi was boots. In the charnel ground Attattahasana, resided a master named Shivamkara, whose siddhi was medicine that destroys all diseases. In the charnel ground Shri-vana, resided a master named Vararuchi, the supreme lover, whose siddhi was the elixir of immortality. In the noisy charnel ground, resided a master named Naked One, whose siddhi was a treasure vase. In the fierce charnel ground, resided a master named Nganpong, whose siddhi was the gold-transforming essence. Having obtained these, he became a vidyadhara. Now, thinking to practice conduct and attain Buddhahood, in a dream, Buddha Amitabha said: 'By the fierce and heroic actions of not seeing Suchness and lacking clairvoyance, you are greatly obstructing the desired siddhis.'
