Within the iron fence, at the gate of the temple housing countless offerings, there is a stupa and shrine of Avalokiteśvara. On the east side of the iron fence of the north gate, there is a fearsome stone statue of the protector deity, the Simhala (Siṃhala) riding a horse, with one face and four arms. There is also an Avalokiteśvara mother image, with one face and twelve arms, the joyful Vajra (Harsha Vajra) traversing all worlds, and the kneeling image of Acala (immovable), and the main deity of Guhyasamāja (secret assembly), with three faces and six arms, holding the vajra-ghanta (vajra bell) crossed at the heart, along with two Vajravarahi (adamantine sow-faced female deity), and five Arapacana. To the northeast of these images, there is a place called 'Tara Well,' said to house Nāgārjuna's personal deity, a cubit-high stone statue. It is said that in the past, King Dharmapala inflicted punishment, killing the monks of Simhala (Siṃhala), and one monk sought refuge with Tara, who said, 'You never remember me in times of ease, only now you remember?' She then blessed the well to accommodate the monk, allowing him to hide there and escape. Later, when this monk fled far to the east of India, King Dharmapala heard that only a Simhala (Siṃhala) could open the upper chamber door of the great Bodhi tree (Bodh Gaya). So he summoned the monk from the east, and he opened the door, causing the king to feel remorse. To atone for his sins, he offered the pure offerings of the three realms to Vajrasana (diamond throne). The place of offering is a stupa in the middle of the southern road within the iron fence. Now, to describe what is outside the iron fence: Outside that iron fence, there are countless wondrous sacred objects, and places where learned and accomplished beings reside, with many distinctions surpassing other places. Outside the eastern iron fence, directly across from the main gate, on the bank of the Nairañjanā River, there is Mahākāla, residing on a lion, with two hands holding a staff in the shape of 'Om,' large and fearsome, facing east. In the river in front of this deity, in the past, two ascetics, Padmaprabha (lotus light) and Rakshita (protected), and others, piled sand into the shape of a stupa, which is very large. On the south side, leaning against the iron fence, there is a place called 'Ghila Vihara,' which has sacred objects blessed by Mahākāla. Śāntideva and Asanga also resided there, and many Tibetan monks also stay there, now owned by Muslims. Near there, there is a place called 'Mati Vihara,' where Śāntarakṣita (protected by peace) used to walk and stand while begging for alms, carrying a begging bowl, and it is said that Atiśa also took ordination there.

There is an Arura tree blessed and planted by Acharya Yeshe Zhap (Wisdom Foot). Near it, in the Tsopara Temple, there is a blessed stone statue of Tara. From there, three 'Yangzha' to the south, in the depths of the forest, is the place where Shakyamuni Buddha was born as an elephant in the past, where there is a five 'To' high stupa. Also in that direction, there is a forest called Kupatza, where many tigers and bears and other animals live. Acharya Yeshe Sangye Zhap (Wisdom Buddha Foot) meditated there for six months and attained the accomplishment of Mahamudra, and personally saw the mandala of the glorious Guhyasamaja emanation, with the noble Manjushri as the main deity. To the west, when Shakyamuni Buddha went for alms in the past, an old woman offered a heavy lump of food, which the Buddha turned into gold and then returned to the old woman. At that place stands a three 'To' high stupa called Gowa Adesha. At the foot of the iron wall to the north, there is a dark meditation room where the Black Conduct Mother and her attendants reside. There, in the center of the village of Singhala Island, where Shakyamuni Buddha was born as a rabbit in the past and jumped into the fire to burn himself for the sake of Indra, there are three stupas. Near there, where Shakyamuni Buddha was born as a hermit in the past, and the three animals, elephant, monkey, and rabbit, were entertained, and the order of offering was determined according to age, there is a stupa and a stump of a banyan tree at the site of the Nyagrodha tree. To the northeast, is the place where Shakyamuni Buddha met the seven young women, where there are seven stupas, and the place where five hundred ascetics with matted hair were subdued, and the meditation cave of Acharya Nagarjuna. Acharya Nagarjuna brought Bodhi branches from the Naga realm, blessed and planted three trees. Fifty 'Yangzha' northeast of Vajrasana, is the abode of the accomplished ones, the Saraha Cave called 'Sprout of Dharma'. Acharya Yeshe Sangye Zhap (Wisdom Buddha Foot) composed fourteen works there in accordance with the scriptures and the oral instructions of Manjushri, and resided with eighteen attendants. These are all particularly blessed holy places and objects. In addition, there are countless other holy places and objects. Today, there are five hundred stupas and countless Buddha statues. Among all these holy places and objects, one can build all the previously mentioned objects, or any self-arisen objects, and strive to engage in offerings, meditation, circumambulation, and so on. Even when meditating on other mandalas and deities, one can visualize oneself as the self-generated deity and the deity in front here, and pray. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
