Then, his body, like refined gold, moved towards the west. By consuming milk porridge, he became like refined gold. As he approached half a yojana to the west, at the place where he slept, people built a Buddha statue equivalent to the Buddha's height, and above the statue, there was a stupa temple. There, there were stone stupas, each more than an adoma high, built by Brahma (Tsangs pa) and Indra (brgya byin). Then, as he went northwest, he encountered a peacock and a deer. They paid homage to him, so there is a stupa at each of the places where they were prophesied. Then, he went north, and on Lake Rigaya (ri ga ya mtsho), three yojanas from Vajrasana (rdo rje gdan), together with Manjushri ('Jam dpal, Manjushri) and Avalokiteshvara (spyan ras gzigs, Avalokiteshvara), he intended to attain enlightenment. The ground cracked, and the Bodhisattva (byang chub sems dpa', Bodhisattva) told Avalokiteshvara to seek a place for enlightenment, so he went to Vajrasana and meditated there. Therefore, Avalokiteshvara became known as the lazy one. His meditation place is inside the south gate of the iron fence of Vajrasana, where there is a statue of Avalokiteshvara, about a span high, and above it, there is a stupa temple. Then, he went south again. In the place where he stayed south of Vajrasana, there is a stone statue of the Bodhisattva. Then, to the Bodhi tree, He proceeded to subdue the Maras. The Bodhisattva walked on the path to the Bodhi tree, and about fifteen adomas from the Bodhi tree, he faced east and emitted rays of light from his heart, burning everything that was not the Bodhi tree. This is how the Bodhi tree was identified. There, there is a Buddha statue equivalent to the Buddha's height, facing east. Above the statue, there is a twenty-adoma-high structure called the Light-Ray Throne ( 'od zer bkya' ba'i gdan dho li). In the place where the ashes were piled, there is a Bodhi tree called Akar Bodhi (a kar bo dhi), which is seven adomas away from the actual Bodhi tree. To the north of that tree, there is a well called Rasakupa (ra sa ku pa), whose water was blessed as nectar by the Buddha. Many relics of Arhats (dgra bcom pa) are kept there. It is said that if hair and nails are thrown there, one will not be reborn in the lower realms. Above the well, there is a stupa, and on the side of the stupa's vase, there is a hole for throwing hair and nails. Then, he went to the Bodhi tree, faced west, and at dusk, he entered the samadhi (ting nge 'dzin) of subduing the Maras, and thirty-six million Maras rained down a shower of weapons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At that time, the drum of 'Jalpai Ngadra' (Mañjuśrīghoṣa) sounded, and the Holy Tara laughed. At that time, from that mountain came a 'Jalpai Ngadra' (Mañjuśrīghoṣa), who beat many drums. Due to the power of the Bodhisattva's samadhi, all the demons were destroyed. The statue of 'Jalpai Ngadra' (Mañjuśrīghoṣa) is located inside the iron fence to the west, a self-arisen statue about one cubit high, enshrined in a stupa. In front of it is a stone mandala, and in the morning, if you listen, you can hear the sound of drums. Behind that stupa, there is a large stone slab with Chinese characters written on it. When the demons were defeated, the Tara of 'Hulu Hulu' laughed when she heard it, as she used to recite 'Hulu Hulu' to repel demons, but she thought it was inappropriate for a holy being, so she covered her face with her hand again. That relic is located northwest of the Bodhi tree, measuring more than twenty 'doms' (a unit of measurement), where there is a self-arisen stone statue of 'Hulu Hulu', about eight years old, facing south, looking at the subduing of demons. At the foot of that statue, there is a stupa called 'The Stupa of Raining Jewels', said to have been built by 'Zanglingpa'. From dawn to enlightenment, for seven weeks, no Dharma was spoken. At dawn, he faced east, and with a vajra-like samadhi, he became enlightened, and sat there without changing his lotus position for the first seven days. On the second seven days, he stood up and walked in Jambudvipa, and to the north of Vajrasana, inside the Vajra fence, where the Buddha took twelve steps, twelve lotuses appeared, as large as umbrellas, and at the relics of the lotuses at both ends, there is a stupa each. The place where the Buddha collected the grass mat, each stupa is about eight 'doms' long and twenty 'doms' wide, located south of Vajrasana, next to the Bodhi tree. On the third seven days, the stupa where he walked in the three thousand worlds is located about five 'doms' behind the northern stone wall, there is a row of twelve stupas. The relic of not blinking and looking at the Bodhi tree for the first seven days is located in the north, the Buddha's statue is looking at the Bodhi tree, with a twenty-five 'dom' high 'Gandhola' on top. Behind that stupa, in the place where the Buddha showed countless pure and impure manifestations, there is a Buddha statue inside the stupa, with a snake's hood covering his back. On the fifth seven days, the place where the Naga king 'Tangzung' came, located two 'gyangdrag' south of Vajrasana, there is a lake, and to the east of the lake, is the place where the Naga king 'Tangzung' met, where there is a stupa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
