From then on, he skillfully taught the instructions in accordance with them. The ninth is: When all sentient beings see you, possessing the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks, they will know that you are a great being, and they will be greatly delighted just by seeing your actions. The tenth is: The basis is completely pure, that is, taking birth, remaining as long as desired, and relinquishing when the time comes, all are attained with mastery. The object is completely pure, that is, the manifestation of no object, and the transformation of existing things. The mind is completely pure, that is, in all aspects, mastery is attained in samadhi. Wisdom is completely pure, that is, in all aspects, mastery is attained in wisdom. Second, there are ten distinctions: the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, no protection, the three mindfulnesses, abandonment of habitual tendencies, no forgetfulness, great compassion, unmixed dharmas, omniscience, and the perfection of the six paramitas. The first is: Explaining from the aspect of action, believing that taking life and so on are methods for happy migrations is a demon that deludes in means. By the power of knowing what is and is not, it is shown that virtue is the place of happy migrations, but taking life and so on, which are non-virtuous, are not, thus subduing them. The demon that deludes in means is one who commits sins and does not do good, yet believes that pleasing Ishvara and others will prevent falling into bad migrations, and so on. By the power of knowing the ripening of karma, it is shown that one's own virtuous and non-virtuous actions will be experienced by oneself, and Ishvara and others cannot protect one from them, thus subduing them. Proclaiming liberation merely by attaining worldly samadhi is a demon that deludes in purity. By the power of knowing dhyana, liberation, samadhi, and samapatti, it is shown that worldly samadhi cannot eliminate the seeds of afflictions from the root, thus subduing them. Those with the Mahayana lineage abandoning the Mahayana and practicing the Hinayana is a demon that greatly deludes the definite arising of the Mahayana. The seven powers, including the power of knowing superior and inferior faculties, subdue them. By the power of knowing superior and inferior faculties, it is shown that small faith and so on

Knowing the inferior and the great, thereby placing them in the great; knowing various inclinations, thereby knowing the various distinctions of inclinations, and placing them in the inclination of the Great Vehicle; knowing various faculties, thereby understanding the differences in the nature of sentient beings, and placing them in activities that suit their nature; knowing all paths of going, thereby understanding all the distinctions of afflictions and behavioral paths, and placing them on the path of the Great Vehicle; with the power of remembering past lives, knowing the past lives of those to be tamed; with the knowledge of death and rebirth, knowing where they will be born in the future; with the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements, knowing all the distinctions of nirvana; through these seven means, in order to place those with the lineage of the Great Vehicle on the path of the Great Vehicle itself. Secondly, for one's own sake, with the wisdom of "I am the Buddha" and the abandonment of "I have abandoned all defilements," both are promised; for the sake of others, teaching and promising that the path of the three vehicles will surely lead to liberation from samsara, and that afflictions are obstacles to liberation. To this, if worldly beings such as gods, demons, Brahma, Brahmins, or Asuras say, starting from "not the Buddha" up to "afflictions are not obstacles to liberation," having truly observed the cause of debate in accordance with the Dharma, having obtained happiness, fearlessness, and lack of shame, promising the great position like a lion, roaring the lion's roar in the assembly, and thoroughly turning the wheel of Brahma, therefore not being subdued by other non-Buddhists. Thirdly, if others know the three actions of body, speech, and mind, fearing that they will not believe and protect them, because there is no need to force it, so in the assembly, like a lion, stretching out the posture and protecting it. Fourthly, because of not forgetting, always thinking that it would be good if these people practiced this Dharma, with this thought always present, so when teaching the Dharma, all the retinue listen respectfully, listen attentively, concentrate, place the thought of knowing everything nearby, and for those who are suitable to practice the Dharma in accordance with the Dharma, the affliction of attachment arises.
