Chapter Seven. Chapter Seven. The third general meaning, the result to be obtained, has two aspects: the general meaning and the specific meaning. The first has three aspects: body, wisdom, and activity. The first has two aspects: classification and the nature of each classification. The first of the three classifications into two, three, and four is: the Dharmakaya for one's own benefit and the Rupakaya for the benefit of others. As stated in the "Ratnavali": "The Rupakaya of the Buddhas is born from the accumulation of merit. The Dharmakaya, if briefly summarized, is born from the accumulation of wisdom of the Victorious Ones." Also, as stated in the "Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning": "May all beings, through this virtue, complete the accumulation of merit and wisdom, and may they obtain the two excellent bodies born from merit and wisdom." The second is: the Rupakaya is divided into the Sambhogakaya and the Nirmanakaya, thus making three. As stated in the "Ornament of Clear Realization": "The body of the Buddhas of the three bodies should be known as the condensed meaning. The purpose of the three bodies, for oneself and others, is shown with a basis." In accordance with this, the "Uttaratantra" also states: "That division, deep and vast, and the qualities of the great essence, the most excellent nature of the Dharma, etc., are entered by the three bodies." The third is: in the "Explanation of the Secret Meaning," the Sambhogakaya is divided into two: the enjoyment that is uniquely experienced by the Buddhas themselves, and the enjoyment of the Mahayana Dharma that is shared with the Bodhisattvas of the tenth bhumi. Thus, it is explained as four. The first is: the stainless wisdom of the Buddhas. The second is: the Rupakaya of Akanishta. Furthermore, in the "Madhyamakavatara," it is stated that "the body that is in accordance with the cause" is the nature of the Rupakaya, where each pore manifests various emanations. Thus, it is explained as four. In the second, the first of the four: the Svabhavikakaya has three characteristics: the characteristic of possessing, possessing all the stainless qualities of the ultimate transformation of the abode, such as powers and fearlessness; the characteristic of separation, completely abandoning the two obscurations along with their habitual tendencies; and the characteristic of nature, being unborn from the beginning and free from all characteristics of compounded phenomena. As stated in the "Uttaratantra": "Therefore, the Buddhas' Svabhavikakaya...

In short, it should be known that it possesses five qualities. As it is said, it is also appropriately gathered here. Second, the Dharmakaya is the non-dual wisdom, like an illusion, which is held by the Buddhas. That is, with the difference of ability, it is divided into two bodies, with the cause of the lord of activities, knowing the difference of how it is and how much it is, and with the difference of abandonment, it is separated from all incompatible aspects. Third, the Sambhogakaya is the body that only the perfect Bodhisattvas can see, adorned with excellent marks and signs. That is, it has five characteristics: showing the body, speaking the speech, the activities of the mind are continuous, not clinging to these, and although it shows many forms to the beings to be tamed, it is not actually there. As it is said, in the Ratnagotravibhāga, it says: speech, showing, activities are continuous, not clinging, not showing its own nature, here it is said to be five different kinds. Fourth, the Nirmanakaya is the body that appears adorned with excellent marks and signs to all the beings to be tamed of the three vehicles, accomplishing the activity of turning the wheel of Dharma. That is, first, it makes the beings to be tamed generate aversion to samsara, thereby entering the path of Nirvana; in the middle, it prevents attachment to peace, places them in the Mahayana, and ripens the continuum; finally, it prophesies the supreme Bodhi and accomplishes the activity of attaining liberation. As it is said, in the Ratnagotravibhāga, it says: entering the path of peace in the world, the body that causes extreme maturity and prophecy, whatever it is, is always present here, like the form aggregate in the realm of space. The above is the explanation of the four bodies. Second, the classification of wisdom has two aspects: dividing into four types and summarizing into two. First, the non-dual wisdom, like an illusion, is divided from different angles into four types: mirror-like wisdom, equality wisdom, discriminating wisdom, and accomplishing wisdom. The first, the non-dual wisdom itself, is established from the perspective of the nature of phenomena appearing like illusions, and observing all things without discrimination. Second, for things that appear like illusions, not clinging to the characteristics of persons and phenomena, therefore not distinguishing self and others.
