We, the real and unreal, do not abide before the mind. At that time, there is no other aspect, and it is completely pacified without any object of focus. Thus, thinking that it seems to have shown that the Buddha has no wisdom. The Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior, Entering the Middle Way says: 'The Buddha is shown to have no wisdom.' It seems to be said like this, but those scriptures do not show that the Buddha has no wisdom. Those teachers do not even accept that the Buddha has no wisdom in conventional terms, nor do they accept the substantially existent wisdom as others claim. However, even in mere conventional terms, they do accept the wisdom of dependent arising, which is free from the four extremes. Even so, because this principle is extremely profound, others cannot understand it, so those teachers merely misunderstand its meaning in a reversed way. The Madhyamaka-Prasangikas have no thesis in their own system, so they do not accept autonomous reasoning, and they refute all elaborations of falling into extremes with the four types of reasoning. Among these, the inference that is well-known to the opponent is that the denial of true existence is based on the sign accepted by those who assert entities. For example, the Vaibhashikas assert that the eye faculty is the ultimate means of seeing forms and that it does not see itself. If so, that which does not see itself is not a means of seeing others, like a pot. The eye also does not see itself. It is like saying: As it is said in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: 'If your own self is not the seer, how can that which does not see itself see others?' It is said like that. Presenting an example of a single reversal, or the consequence of stating a contradiction, is when another's assertion is taken as a sign, and it is not permissible to be an agent and an object, and if the characteristic is established before, then the characteristic will become non-existent, like saying: 'If the characteristic of space existed before, then there would be no space at all. If the characteristic existed before, then it would become without a characteristic.' It is said like that. The equality of having the same reason is when cause and effect are asserted as different entities, then a thick flame would arise even from darkness, like saying in the Entering: 'If one thing arises dependent on another, then a thick darkness would arise even from a flame.' It is like that. The means of proof is the same as what is to be proven.

The refutation of non-establishment is: If it is said that form has no inherent existence, then since the five aggregates are the same, feelings, etc., should also become without inherent existence. To this, the Madhyamikas say that since they want to prove that just as one dharma has no inherent existence, everything is also without inherent existence, they want to accept this fault, or conversely, this reason is not established. This is how it is shown. In the Root Verses of the Middle Way, it says: When challenged with emptiness, whoever answers and speaks, he has not answered everything, and will become the same as what is to be established. When explaining with emptiness, whoever criticizes and speaks, he has not criticized everything, and will become the same as what is to be established. So it is said. These are the four reasonings of the Madhyamaka-Prasaṅgikas for refuting the real existence of others, which are praised by the ancient scholars. However, for the Madhyamaka-Prasaṅgikas, just as there is no tenet of their own, there is also no reasoning of their own. The four reasons for the Svatantrikas to establish emptiness are: All external and internal phenomena are the subject, they are not truly established in ultimate reality, because in ultimate reality they are separate from the nature of one and many, like form. This is the observation of the essence being separate from one and many. The establishment of the thesis is: External pots, etc., with parts are not one, because if one part is covered, everything will be covered, and if one place is painted, all places will be painted, etc., which would be a fault. The indivisible atom is also not established, because if the central atom is surrounded by atoms in six directions, if any direction of the central atom touches the eastern atom, and if it also touches the atoms in other directions, then the volume of the aggregate of many atoms not accumulated and the single atom will be the same, and if other faces are touched by atoms in other directions, then the atom will have six parts, as it is said: In the Twentieth Chapter, it says: When six surround simultaneously, the subtle atom becomes six parts, if the six are also in one place, the aggregate will also become the size of a subtle atom. So it is said. Internal consciousness is also not truly existent as an indivisible moment, because if there are not the three parts of the initial arising, the final cessation, and the intermediate abiding, the prior limit of arising and the posterior limit of cessation.
